The sweetest scene between Emily and Lorelai

I know season 7 isn't everyone's cup of tea but this scene with slightly drunk Emily realizing her daughter can take care of herself after Richard has a heart attack and leaves Emily to fend for herself, is really such a unique moment in their relationship. She realizes Lorelai is capable of something she never even imagined possible for herself, which is being fine without a husband. It reminds me a lot of the Barbie Movie quote "mothers stand still so daughters can look back and see how far they've come". It made me shed a tear 🥲 It doesn't really change their relationship as seen next morning but it does show why Emily acts the way she does regarding Lorelai's life, it made me admire Lorelai so much more.

What is Daniel Palladino's problem??

So in another post on Reddit someone told me they play a little game: every time a homophobic/ transphobic joke shows up they check to see if Daniel wrote it and it was always him. So I started doing the same and it's true! Seems like every homophobic joke was written by him, what gives?

Edit: I watch 2000s shows all the time and KNOW what normalized homophobia looked like back then, doesn't mean it's ok to give it a pass, I love the show and I think it's important to call out because new people keep watching shows like GG and this stuff should never be normalized again.

Rory and Lorelai are sooo not girl's girls.

I would think it is pretty obvious for the whole fandom but it really amazes me how it was normalized in the early 2000's not to be a girl's girl. Lorelai does a better job at it sometimes like with Sherrie (at least to her face) but they make horrible comments about girls throughout the show and Rory is worse because she puts downs and calls dumb every new girlfriend their ex's have. ¿What are the worst examples of this do you think?

Jess Stans: How can you possibly say he was the best for Rory after this scene!?

There's so much talk about the best match for Rory but re re rewatching and seeing how horrible he is to her I CANNOT understand how anyone could think he deserved Rory at ALL??

Also Lorelai is right, Dean was a very good first boyfriend, a lot of what happened after is Rory's fault too, she contributed to ruining his life.
