does anyone know when they typically hire for guest control and blackout during scary farm? i saw on the performer listing they’d “be up soon” but wanted a better estimate. and is it hard to work another job while seasonal at knotts? i am part time at disney rn but sometimes get scheduled 40 hours during peak season
i work at a hotel that uses OPERA to manage reservations and one goal ive had since getting hired a year ago is to become skilled enough to become a designated rooms assigner/rooms ready/etc. this used to be a position you could apply to cross train for, and then they would show you everything you needed to know. having this experience is especially useful if applying to become a shift lead/front desk manager because you can already handle the inventory, room moves, assignments, etc. in room diary and property availability with ease should guest concerns arise. due to budget they cut that position and now only shift leads can handle it. so now they pitch that they want to promote employees who already work independently and dont have to ask for help with things like room moves, balancing inventory, etc. but my question is, how can i learn how to do any of that on my own?? were typically so busy i dont have time to just stumble around aimlessly in opera and hope i get better without breaking things and also a lot of my permissions are currently locked. are there like, training guides or videos or even a course from oracle i could ask to do during downtime or on my own time even?? when i worked an office job, they had something similar for salesforce and i basically taught myself how to use it so i could teach the rest of my much older department who had just switched from a paper filing system and it really helped. or like, atp should i seek a second job at another hotel that will be willing to train me?? ive worked other hotels before but they didnt use opera at all so this software is also just still new to me. tia!
