Actor Madhavan’s son Vedaant, now 20, spoke about settling in Dubai for professional commitments and leaving his life in India behind. Talking about the move on The Success Show with Ruhaan Mathreja Vedaant said, “The shift was pretty smooth. We were able to move all our assets and everything. It was a nice move. One thing I would say is that ... I didn’t have a problem with swimming because there were a majority of Indians there. But getting accustomed to that school life while managing my swim and social life was a bit different. It was kind of a shock to me. I had been in India my whole life; adapting to this new environment took me a bit.”

He added, “But besides that, it was a good decision to come here on my end because of the whole situation with COVID. I was really able to race in Denmark because of that. I sacrificed my life in India — with all my friends and a cultivated environment. I was able to get out of that comfort zone and come to a whole new country to do what I like here.”

During an interview with NDTV, Sushmita Sen reflected on the challenges she faced after deciding to adopt her daughter at the age of 24. She revealed that her decision was met with resistance from the industry, with even her manager choosing to walk away.

“My manager ran away. He said, ‘You’re not serious about your career, and I can’t represent someone who’s a mother at 24. I did everything on my own. So your rules don’t apply to me. My rules apply to me. So my rule says, this is what I want to do. I want to be a young mother. And I do not want to be incapacitated in any way so as to be able to look after this child and give this child the best childhood possible. And so that was the time, and it worked out, thankfully. It took a lot, but it did work out.”
