Seattle killed it

I’ve been seeing Movements for a long time and that was by far the best crowd I’ve ever seen at a show. Absolutely loved the energy and already can’t wait to see them again.

P.s. if the band reads this thank you for playing Pulse🤝 that’s been on repeat since release

M’s fans we gotta talk

After losing 5 straight (before today) on the road trip going into the all star break, I want your opinions on this because Dan and Jerry are lost in the sauce. And I’ve gotta vent and see if I’m the only one who thinks this way.

This is what *I think*, key words are I think, please share your thoughts if you disagree or agree, and this post may ruffle feathers, but at this point any idea is better than what we’re throwing out there. Many of you may call me old fashioned in this approach, but holy cow Dan played in the old fashioned era of managing and him managing in the new era is not working.

The analytics are not working, the players don’t seem cohesive, the team energy isn’t there but the injuries are. Defensively, certain players are out of their prime (and out of position) and starting over younger and fresher players. The rotation has been a hot topic for months without solution, and the bullpen has been a joke. The team needs a shakeup.

Randy needs to be dealt. Randy is in his final year of his contract, and he will have 6 years service time by the end of this season meaning we’re gonna lose him regardless because he’s not happy in Seattle and we will not pay him what he is “worth”. Randy’s hitting for good average which adds value, his stolen bases are good, but his homers are down only getting 10 this far into the year, his fielding and effort are non-existent. He’s dogging it out there and it’s been that way all season. He is not injured, he said that on record this weekend at Tampa. How he got selected to be an all star with his numbers is beyond me, but it adds to his value and now is the time to deal him for another bat: somebody younger or fresher, with pop; i.e. Cedric Mullins, Jarren Duran, Spencer Steer, Seiya Suzuki. If we can’t get a deal for Randy, he must be a DH from here on.

Castillo simply doesn’t have it anymore, it’s causing team issues with the 6-man rotation and the piggyback system is a joke. He’s costing us over $20mil a year, trade him to a team needing starter depth in exchange for outfield prospects. Trust in Bryce and Emerson to hold down the bottom end of the rotation. And when it comes time to pay our pitchers in the next year or two, use some of that chunk of $20mil to hold up our rotation for years to come.

The lineup: we need to stop platooning. It does none of the players any good going out one day, then off two, then on for two, then off one, then on for three, then off for two. It’s not rhythmic, it breeds no confidence in players’ abilities from the manager, and it breeds tense competition amongst our guys rather than competing with our opponent for a team win.

As for a defensive lineup, taking into consideration current injuries:

C - Cal
1B - Josh
2B - Cole
3B - Colt (only here bc of JP)
SS - JP (he is bad at 3B, he is fine at SS)
LF - Robles
CF - Julio (stated to return after ASG)
RF - Raley
DH - Randy

This should be the defense every day. Yes, Dom is out of the lineup as it stands. If Randy is traded, Dom goes to DH, this also gives time for Dom to heal his hammy fully. The only other option to have Dom playing is replacing Robles or Raley in the outfield, but both Robles and Raley are (a) better outfielders, and (b) neither are nursing a hamstring issue. This also gives guys struggling to find consistency (Robles, Raley, Cal) at-bats every day to get consistent and find their form. We all know Robles Raley and Cal can mash when given the confidence and time to do so. One pinch hit at bat or two starting at-bats only to be pinch hit every game does nothing for them or the team long term.

Organization moves:
Send down Garver, and Call up Fairchild. We need outfield legs that are fresh and Garver hurts us in the lineup more than he helps Cal rest.
Call Pereda back up, and send Buddy Kennedy down.

Batting lineup:
1 Cole
2 Julio
3 Randy
4 Josh
5 Raley
6 Colt
7 Cal
8 Robles
9 JP

TLDR, are we cooked this late into the season with this many issues? I guess if nothing changes, we’re gonna find out real quick.

P.s. I have no solution for the bullpen short of spending more money on free agent relievers at end of season.

Recommendations for digital torque wrench?

I have a handful of DYI car and motorcycle engine projects coming up that need precise torque specs. I’m not trying to break the bank but I would like to buy once and not worry about buying a replacement. Hoping to stay under the $200 mark if possible? I’m open to different brands and ideas.

I’m thinking 3/8 drive if it matters that much? I do know I need ft-lbs and in-lbs measurements. The work I’m doing is in tight spaces. Does anybody use the pivoting head wrenches in practicality? If so, what’s your opinion on those versus fixed head wrenches?

I’ve borrowed a click wrench on past projects and I hate it. I have my own click wrench horror story for another time.

Heard good things about Icon, Quinn, and even some Chinese made products through YouTube. But I’m really stumped on what actually matters for these and what you guys suggest?
