How to import a scanned image correctly?
I have a scanned image of a block of wood. How would I import it into affinity to match up perfectly with its actual dimensions?
I want it on a 8.5x11 canvas and I want it to be its actual size of the wood represented on that canvas.

How would you cut this on tablesaw?
Trying to cut a section out of a 4x4 post that is about 14” long. Can I just make 2 rip cuts the required depth alternating faces to remove the stock? Would it bind or pinch?

How would you go about making a spindle from squared 36in stock?
I have stock that is 3” square by 36” long. I want to bring it down as a taper about 2”-1” end to end. What’s the safest way to go about this?
I have a steady rest but can’t use it in it’s squared form.
Do I start at a midpoint slow rotation to make a round portion for the steady rest?

Tap and die lubricant?
What do yall use to lube up a tap and die setup? I’ve read mineral oil or linseed oil but I don’t want to possibly change the color of the surrounding wood. Think I could get away with just water?

1/2 leather lace won’t lay flat and straight?
I used the weaver lace cutter to cut some 1/2 lace from 12x24 piece. I went around the piece in an oval shape to get one long piece of lace. Problem I have now is the parts where I was making a turn the lace won’t lay flat or straight. Kinda curves around and then back straight.
Is there a method to straighten it all out or at least reduce how much curves it has?
