Preventing resident cat from getting too attached to foster cat (adults)

Hi all, I'm picking up my first foster case later this week; she's a 2 year old whose owner passed and I was told she is very friendly and affectionate. She'll be with us for 2 weeks while she is on adoption hold.

My resident cat is 9 years old and he is very attached to me. Lately, I've been feeling like he is lonely and needs a pal, so the foster situation is for me to see how he reacts to the scent of another kitty at home.

I will be quarantining the foster in my bathroom while she adjusts, but the shelter noted that she is very eager for human contact and may door dash from this space. Our apartment is set up in a way that we can seal off the living spaces from the bedroom/bathroom so we should be able to keep them separate for the majority of her time here.

I am a bit curious how they would connect if they get to a point where they both want to meet (sniffing under the door, meowing to each other). But I do worry about my cat getting attached and then being sad when she returns to the shelter for adoption. Is it best to just keep them separated the entire time?

Tl:dr should I let the foster meet my cat or not? Concerned about my cat getting attached and being sad when she leaves.
