Nervous about trying to donate again after 10 years...

About 10 years ago the company I worked for had a blood drive and I tried donating blood for the first time in my life. It was a bad experience, apparently they couldn't get the blood flowing, I started to feel nausea at the feeling, and the technician ended up stopping. I felt really bad and embarrassed.

There's another blood drive happening soon that I want to try donating again. It's 10 years later, I have had bloodwork done for health reasons over the years, so I'm more familiar with the feeling of getting pricked, etc. Should I try again? I'm super nervous that it'll just be another failure but I want to redeem myself from all those years ago.

What's one funny or interesting DT fact you know?

I'll start. Before James LaBrie joined the band, they mailed him their demo, but James had no way to listen to it. So he went to an electronics store, pretended to be interested in buying a stereo and had the store associate play the demo on the stereo. While acting like he was focused on how the stereo sounded, it was the first time James LaBrie ever heard Dream Theater. What are some other funny DT stories?

Edit: Thank you for the correction, it was not a demo, it was a copy of "Status Seeker".

What kind of album would you like to see for DT17?

DT finally wrapped up their 40th anniversary world tour after being on the road for nearly one and a half years. MP confirmed the band plans to take the summer off and begin working on DT17 this fall.

Curious what type of album do you think would make the most sense for DT17, or what type of album would you like to see?

Classic Progressive Album (Images & Words, A Dramatic Turn of Events, etc.)

Progressive Metal Album (Train of Thought, Systematic Chaos, etc.)

Concept Album (Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes From a Memory, Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, etc.)

Thematic / Semi-Concept Album (Octarvium, Black Clouds & Silver Linings, Parasomnia, etc.)

Rock Opera / Musical Album (The Astonishing, etc.)

Accessible / Commercial Album (Falling Into Infinity, etc.)

Double Album (Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence, The Astonishing, etc.)

Something entirely new altogether?

Even more speculation, what are the chances DT17 contains any sort of sequel or follow up? Metropolis Part 3? 12-Step Suite Epilogue?

Anyone know anybody who won the Dream Theater "Ticket For Life"?

Back in 2011 there were 50 randomly inserted Dream Theater "Ticket For Life" in the box set editions of ADTOE (https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Dream-Theater-A-Dramatic-Turn-Of-Events-DVD/324219)

I'm wondering if anyone knows anybody who won (or perhaps won themselves?) I am wondering how the last 15 years have been for someone with a Dream Theater "Ticket For Life". Did you see the band once or twice and stop going to shows? Did you rent an RV and follow the band on tour across the country? Are there a club of you guys that you still recognize at shows? Curious what the experience has been for a "Ticket For Life" holder over these years.

Any tips or advice to help get acclimated to "normal life" after DNing?

After DNing for almost a decade, I decided it's time to finally settle down and picked a spot. I'm having some issues being "normal". Here is an example ...

For years, I have lived out of a suitcase. Everything I own I could pack and travel with. I was at a concert recently and wanted to buy a t-shirt. While DNing, I wouldn't do it, I don't have space for physical items, I don't need a souvenir, the photos I save on my phone are good enough.

Well, now I actually have the physical space for possessions. But, I still overcome with guilt and anxiety buying the t-shirt, feeling that it would just weigh me down and be something I don't need and would be extra baggage. But I wanted it.

In the end, I ended up buying it. But I still feel guilty and anxious about it.

Can anyone else related? I guess I'm looking for help not feeling bad about these type of things as I become acclimated to a settled down life.

With Jordan going to be freakin' 70 years old, it got me thinking. Do you think the band will announce a farewell album/tour when it is finally time to call it quits? What if one member is forced into retirement before the others, do you think the band would enlist a replacement and ride it out, or do you think they would retire all together as the classic lineup? Also realistically how many more albums and tours do you think DT has left before retirement?
