Nvidia driver / old GPU GTX 960

I used Zorin OS 17 without any issues, but ever since I upgraded to Zorin OS 18, it's been slow and kind of glitchy. And the reason is simply my GPU: the GTX 960.

I know about the driver situation. I installed Zorin OS 18 with the NVIDIA driver, and I've already gone into the Zorin OS settings and tried several different driver versions. Some are even worse than others.

Anyway, it's just not working out. I'm seriously thinking about giving up on Zorin OS. Does anyone have any suggestions? Which driver are you using?

I'm even considering buying an equivalent AMD GPU just because of this.

I discovered Zorin OS last year and used it for a few months, completely satisfied with Zorin OS 17.5.

When version 18 was released, I was eager for the update from Zorin OS 17.5 to become available. But I got tired of waiting and decided to do a clean installation from scratch.

Since then, I’ve been pretty dissatisfied with Zorin OS 18. It’s usable, yes, but it has some very annoying and frequent video bugs. Maybe it’s due to my Nvidia 960 graphics card, but either way, it’s the same card and the same PC I used with Zorin OS 17.5.

There are other bugs as well, like one that makes the Files app slow and unresponsive for a few seconds. It happens both within the app itself and when I’m using another app and need to choose a folder to save a file, for example.
