major plot hole in S5
I was rewatching TVD and was on the Silas story arc, when I noticed this one major plot hole that I haven’t seen anyone else talk about.
A lot of supernatural characters passed away and came back up until season 5, like Alaric, Lexi(temporarily), Jeremy. But none of them seemed to mention that they passed through an “anchor” or that they saw a woman (Amara) while passing onto the other side.
After the Silas arc we saw how Tessa (Qetsiyah) talked to Bonnie and explained to her how being an anchor to the other side works, and also saw how Katherine interacted with her before trying to pass on to the other side. So obviously the de*d person trying to pass on can talk to or AT LEAST see the anchor before they touch her.
How come Alaric, Lexi, Jeremy etc never mentioned Amara when they were temporarily back and knew the whole thing that was going on? If anything they would’ve mentioned it in a casual conversation how they had to pass through this one girl who was another doppelgänger like Elena or Katherine?
This just isn’t making sense to me. This is such a major detail I don’t get how the writers seemed to miss.
