Nail growing outwards- should I remove?

Nail growing outwards- should I remove?

I'm pretty new to having nails strong enough to grow out even a little and so I have next to no idea how to even go about googling for advice, hence why I am here

The image shows how a bit of the side of my nail has seemed to just... grow sideways a bit? It's definitely nail, not hard skin, and is growing out very flat, not following the curve of the rest of my nail. It's starting to catch on things but I'm not sure if I should cut it or file it or just leave it alone?

Any ideas what caused it in the first place too? Thanks in advance folks

Product list: lacura oat hand cream and plain vasiline
