What is Kai’s most badass moment?

It was a close match, but the votes mostly fell into two categories. “‘It’s okay, she’s with us’”, and “Lloyd releasing the Serpentine”. In the end, Lloyd releasing the Serpentine wins out as the most questionable thing Lloyd has done, for good reason. Had he not released the Serpentine, the entire timeline as we know it would be completely different. Would be a fun “what if?” story to explore someday…

Now, onto a new category, but with the same old master of “FIYYYAAAA” (for best effect, read it in Kai’s voice):

Day 25: What is Kai’s most badass moment?

The name of the game is “Aura Farming”, as the kids say. What moment from Kai’s history just had the sauce? The impact? The FIRE? Kai loves being cool, so I’m sure there are many to pick from.

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • His tournament match with Ash for the Jade Blade
  • Dealing the final blow to the Gimon-Ogu
  • Reunlocking his powers and destroying Boreal
  • Being released from the Nether-Space and battling an elemental powered-Nokt solo

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider his fight with Karlof, him saving Lloyd and unlocking his true potential, or him taking on the Hands of Time and Iron Doom with the Fusion Dragon as his most badass moment. Kai has a plethora of cool moments to pick from. As long as it’s badass, it’s valid.

What is Lloyd’s most questionable decision?

Not putting an end to the love triangle earns the win as Nya’s most questionable moment. She had the power to stop them from fighting, but she was unsure, and didn’t. It brought out the worst in everyone involved, and even carried over into the next season. It feels like it was brought up to shake up the status quo, only to be reset later.

Now, time to end this category column with someone who just cannot catch a break in their love life or parental life:

Day 24: What is Lloyd’s most questionable decision?

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Unleashing the serpentine tribes, and the domino effect it had(Great Devourer, Harumi, Stone Warriors, Overlord, Chen, etc)
  • Not protecting the Time Blades when he had control of both of them
  • Neglecting Arin’s desire to find his family, and not listening to him when he told them that Master Wu caused the Merge, leading to him joining Ras
  • Using the Ultimate Weapon

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider him  rushing in to save the ninja in “All of Nothing” without any sort of plan as questionable, or any moment from his complicated relationship with Harumi. I’m sure there’s moments I’ve missed that you can think of, so don’t forget to share your thoughts and reasoning, and upvote comments that you want to win.

What is Nya’s most questionable decision?

Skybound seems to be raking in the wins, because Zane ignoring P.I.X.A.L.’s warnings and losing both her and himself to Nadakhan wins as Zane’s most questionable decision. A lot of people criticized the writing of the scene, but I think it was at least in character for him to try and outsmart Nadakhan at his own game. How he lost, however, is definitely questionable.

Now onto someone who isn’t weak (the bucket is weak):

Day 23: What is Nya’s most questionable decision?

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Killing the preeminent and inadvertently destroying the Cursed Realm and Djinjago
  • Demeaning Skylor out of pocket
  • Wishing for an enemy Draconian to have bones made of jelly(there’s no way that guy wasn’t in perpetual pain)
  • Not ending the feud between Jay and Cole fighting over her

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider her arguing with the other Ninja at the beginning of Skybound and refusing to take Jay’s hand, or her getting defensive about her powers acting up at the beginning of Seabound as questionable. I’m sure there’s moments I’ve missed that you can think of, so don’t forget to share your thoughts and reasoning, and upvote comments that you want to win.

What is Zane’s most questionable decision?

Cole saying “During the Serpentine Wars?! But Ninjago was at peace. Who would they be fighting?” wins as Cole’s most questionable moment. It’s been talked to death, so I don’t know what more can be said. Just an all-around dumb moment when said aloud.

Now, onto someone who knows when the treadmill was invented:

Day 22: What is Zane’s most questionable decision?

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Reporting the ninja to the authorities in Skybound
  • His reign as the ice emperor
  • Joining Jay and Cole when they were messing around with the time blade
  • Turning off his emotions after Nya sacrificed herself, so he wouldn’t have to deal with processing grief

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider his strangeness in “Home” questionable (the other Ninja did, because they didn’t understand him), or him slowly becoming more focused on his robotic side and less human-like over the course of the series as questionable.

What is Cole’s most questionable decision?

Jay keeping his encounter with Nadakhan, and his usage of two wishes a secret wins as Jay’s most questionable decision. There were a lot of votes for different moments from Skybound, as Jay made a lot of mistakes in the first half. I saw votes for him lying to Nya and reading from Cliff Gordon’s book, too. At least he learned to be better by the end.

Now onto our Earth Ninja (alive, but gay):

Day 21: What is Cole’s most questionable decision?

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Eating the cake and weapons inside it that Dareth gave them.
  • Feeding into the love triangle arc by bickering with Jay
  • Getting tricked by Master Yang, releasing the spirits of the Ninjas’ enemies, and getting trapped
  • Wanting revenge for the Finders, rushing into the fight with Spectral Nokt, and getting hollowed

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider him starting the foodfight in “Home”, him joining in on the team's laziness in Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, or even him eating before joining Wyldfyre and the team on the Temple Bounty as questionable. I'm grasping at straws, and I know there's an obvious one I missed, somehow.

What is Jay’s most questionable decision?

Kai posting a “chirp” and alerting the Ninjas' fans to the hospital that the Ninja were located at takes the spot as Kai’s most questionable moment. Something small that effectively snowballed, as it forced the Ninja to get to the roof to avoid fans, led to Nya arguing with the other Ninja, getting them caught, and unintentionally buying time for Clouse’s ghost to release Nadakhan.

Now, onto the Lord of the Jig:

Day 20: What is Jay’s most questionable decision?

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Giving away their cover while the ninja were posing as Vermillion Warriors
  • Losing his sanity and grip on reality while stranded in the First Realm
  • Reading Cliff Gordon’s Handbook to Wooing Women, and lying to Nya
  • Getting distracted with Prime Empire after he was told to look for clues, and entering the game

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider him still trying to get with Nya after she repeatedly told them that they were just friends (leading to the two fighting and Nadakhan preying on him), or him arguing with Cole over Nya and damaging their friendship (unless you consider it more Cole’s fault for egging him on, or Nya’s for not stopping either).

What is Kai’s most questionable decision?

In another big sweep, Lloyd sacrificing his age with the Tomorrow’s Tea to destroy the Grundle and restore the other Ninjas to their adult/teen selves wins as Lloyd’s most noble moment. Quite possibly one of Lloyd’s first noble moments and major sacrifices, it literally changed his life forever, with the aftereffects still being felt all the way to Dragons Rising season 4. He gave up his entire childhood to save the team, and that’s something he never got back.

We’re halfway done. Now, onto a new category:

Day 19: What is Kai’s most questionable decision?

Being one of the most impulsive Ninja, Kai has definitely made some questionable choices. Ranging from “justifiable, yet reckless”, to “baffling”, to “straight-up stupid”, Kai absolutely has had moments where you’re questioning his actions, wishing that he had thought things through more, or yelling at the screen.

Some moments I included in the collage:

  • Becoming obsessed with being the Green Ninja with lingering feelings all the way until Tournament of Elements
  • Not warning Jay about Nya’s severe perfume allergy, laughing it off afterwards, and implying that this has happened before
  • Angering the Lightning-Tides with Wyldfyre while Nya was trying to reason with them, and getting them captured again
  • Wasting his lives and credits in Prime Empire and being the first to hit one life remaining

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider him rushing into Garmadon’s trap at the Fire Temple in the Pilots(leading to Master Wu sacrificing himself to save him), or him separating from Jay in Skybound despite orders from Lloyd to stay as a pair(leading to him being the first to be trapped by Nadakhan), or wanting to give up after he lost his powers in Season 11 as his most questionable moment.

What is Lloyd’s most noble act?

In another major sweep, Nya’s merge with the Endless Sea to save Ninjago and defeat Kalmaar and Wojira wins as Nya’s most noble moment. Possibly one of the biggest feats we’ve seen an elemental master pull off, and the effects of her sacrifice being crucial to the first half of the Crystallized season following it. Her sacrifice broke the team as much as, if not more than Zane’s sacrifice, and the moment they find out she could be restored, they stop at nothing to save her.

Now, onto the Green Ninja:

Day 18: What is Lloyd’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • Performing the Ritual of Unrooting to save the Whispering Wood, despite his advanced age making it likely that the process would kill him
  • Becoming the Ultimate Spinjitzu Master and vanquishing the Overlord
  • Sacrificing his youth to save the Ninja
  • Sacrificing his Golden Powers to restore the Ninjas’ elemental powers
  • Rallying the people of Ninjago City against Garmadon’s rule
  • Defeating Spectral Thunderfang with Arin by letting him take the lead and trusting him

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts, and Lloyd has done a lot. Maybe you consider his fight against the Overlord in Crystallized, or him going out of his way to save people during the Merge in the beginning flashback of Dragons Rising as the most noble thing he’s done. It just needs to be noble. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions he has done from across the series, and comment below.

What is Nya’s most noble act?

This one was pretty unanimous, but it was worth the vote anyways: Zane’s sacrifice by defeating the Golden Master Overlord wins as Zane’s most noble moment! Arguably one of his most defining moments, and the swan song of his time in his original body, complete with flashbacks of his history, humanity, and everything that made him special and loved by the Ninja, all as he sacrifices himself to single-handedly destroy the Overlord.

Now, onto the Water Ninja:

Day 17: What is Nya’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • Becoming one with the sea and sacrificing herself to defeat Kalmaar and Wojira
  • Creating the mantle of Samurai X to be self-reliant and fight alongside the Ninja
  • Instinctively taking the attack meant for Jay and losing her last life in Prime Empire
  • Conquering her fear of failure, unlocking her true potential and wiping out the Preeminent, and saving the Ninja and the people of the City of Stiix

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider Nya letting Jay escape through the Traveler’s Tea and giving herself up to the Sky Pirates in Skybound, or her “what else is there for us to do?” speech to Lloyd in Hunted. It just needs to be noble. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions she has done from across the series, and comment below.

What is Zane’s most noble act?

Cole running back to save the Scroll of Airjitzu at the cost of the curse of Yang’s temple turning him into a ghost wins as Cole’s most noble moment. I saw a handful of votes for Cole letting Jay win their tournament match, and even a vote or two for his victory over the Skull Sorcerer and his loyalty to the Finders, but Cole acting on instinct here for the benefit of his friends, and paying the price for it regardless earns its spot.

Now, onto the Ice Ninja:

Day 16: What is Zane’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • Sacrificing himself against the Digital Overlord
  • Stopping the hijacked train and sacrificing himself to save P.I.X.A.L and the Freebooters
  • Giving up half of his power source to restore P.I.X.A.L
  • Taking the blow meant for Master Wu, and being sent to the Never-Realm by Aspheera

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider Zane hacking the Hover-Copter in Rebooted when it cornered and threatened to destroy the Ninja, or taking a stand with the Ninja and preventing the Re-Awakened from traversing beyond the point in Master of the Mountain(yes, throwing that reference in there). It just needs to be noble. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions he has done from across the series, and comment below.

What is Cole’s most noble act?

Jay recharging the Hydro Bounty and risking electrocution wins as Jay’s most noble moment. I saw a few votes for talking Unagami down from his rage, as well as for his final wish in Skybound, and even assembling the Ninja Replacements and going into the Djinn Blade to save the other Ninja. But Jay’s decision to recharge the Hydro Bounty despite the risks and warnings not to wins the round, with it showcasing his love for Nya that he would risk everything for her.

Now onto the Earth Ninja:

Day 15: What is Cole’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • Rushing back into the temple to retrieve the Scroll of Airjitzu, and becoming a ghost as a result
  • Promising his mom that he would stand up to tyrants, defeating the Skull Sorcerer, and liberating the Geckles, Munce, and Upply
  • Ending his grudge with Jay so that they can make amends, and forfeiting to let Jay win their match
  • Staying with the Finders instead of finding the Ninja, because he knew they needed protection

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider Cole turning the Lowly into the Upply in Master of the Mountain, or him singlehandedly attempting to fight Empress Beatrix and the Loyalists in DRS4 as his most noble moment. It just needs to be noble. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions he has done from across the series, and comment below.

What is Jay’s most noble act?

Kai selling the Ninjas’ deposits of the tea farm to Ronin won as Kai’s most noble moment! A lot of you voted for Kai saving Lloyd instead of the Fang Blade, so perhaps we’ll come back to that moment later, but Kai’s act in Possession won out in the end just by slightly. Kai and Lloyd’s bond was put on full display in Possession, and Kai’s willingness to do anything to help him and stop Morro has been an important part of his character.

Now onto the Lightning Ninja:

Day 14: What is Jay’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • Recharging the Hydro Bounty’s battery, despite the risks posed to him
  • Sacrificing his new life as Rogue to return to his old life as a Ninja
  • Returning to help Nya and Kai fight spectral Zarkt
  • Talking to Unagami and consoling his rage

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Maybe you consider Jay's final wish in Skybound noble, or confessing his love for Nya in the face of the apocalypse in MOTO. It just needs to be noble. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions he has done from across the series, and comment below.

What is Kai’s most noble act?

We got a lot of different picks for Lloyd’s best usage, but in the end, Hunted takes the win! It definitely placed emphasis on the Lloyd vs Lord Garmadon conflict in a dire way, and having Lloyd and the resistance always on the back foot as they fought back was so notable. A lot of you liked Lloyd’s focus on his leadership and hope this season, as well as his victory over Garmadon through the Art of the Silent Fist, rather than an obliteration like he did with the Overlord in season 2.

Now, we move onto the next category:

Day 13: What is Kai’s most noble act?

Some moments I included in the collage are:

  • He and Cole sacrificing themselves and their last lives to help Jay and the other Ninja win the Speedway Five-Billion
  • Saving Lloyd at the cost of the Fang Blade, and finding his purpose and true potential
  • “It’s the size of the fight in the ninja” speech
  • Reforging and restoring the Fire Knight Mech

But as always, you do NOT have to pick from the collage only. Any moment from any Ninjago media counts. Kai had some noble moments in Season 11 while powerless, for example. Dig deep, and think about what noble actions he has done from across the series. Whether it was a speech when things were hopeless, a sacrifice to give others a win, or still fighting on when he was at a disadvantage.

Which season/miniseries used Lloyd the best?

Seabound takes Nya’s best usage in a big sweep. I did see some votes for Possession and Hunted, but it looks like this subreddit agrees that nothing beats Nya’s solo season, showing how powerful she is, how deep her origins go, and arguably her most noble act (we'll probably be back here later).

Now, onto our Green Ninja, and the one with possibly the most answers:

Day 12: Which season/miniseries used Lloyd the best?

Could be because of:

  • his characterization
  • emotional depth
  • personal struggles
  • connection to the team
  • action moments
  • focus on his role as the Green Ninja, the Golden Ninja, the son of Garmadon/grandson of The First Spinjitzu Master, the team leader, or the maturation into the master with his own students
  • or overall contribution to the story

Which season/miniseries used Nya the best?

Season 1 wins as Zane’s best usage! I saw some votes for DRS4P1 and Rebooted, and even a vote or two for Tournament of Elements, but in the end, the focus on Zane’s humanity, coupled with the legendary episodes that are “Home” and “Tick Tock” ultimately netted it the win.

Now, onto our ex-samurai and current Water Ninja:

Day 11: Which season/miniseries used Nya the best?

Could be because of:

  • her characterization
  • comedy
  • emotional depth
  • dynamic with the team, Kai, or Jay
  • action moments
  • emphasis on her role as the girl, the samurai, the newest ninja, or the water ninja
  • or overall contribution to the story

Which season/miniseries used Zane the best?

Master of the Mountain takes the win for Cole’s best usage! Unsurprisingly, since it is his focal season. Day of the Departed got a bit of love too. Surprised I didn’t see much support for Sons of Garmadon or Hunted, since he was a pretty big focus there too, being the most dedicated to finding and then later raising Master Wu, but we got some love for it in the end! Master of the Mountain deserves its flowers and recognition, and takes its place as Cole’s best usage, letting us see his childhood, his mother, and his drive to stand up against tyrants.

Now, onto the former white ninja, current titanium ninja, and forever Ice Ninja:

Day 10: Which season/miniseries used Zane the best?

Could be because of:

  • his characterization
  • comedy
  • emotional depth
  • dynamic with the team or P.I.X.A.L
  • action moments
  • emphasis on his humanity or robot side
  • or overall contribution to the story

Which season/miniseries used Cole the best?

Skybound takes the round for Jay’s best usage! I saw some votes for DRS3P2, which brought some edge back to Jay as Rogue, and Prime Empire and Seabound, both of which show off his relationship with Nya and the other Ninja. In the end, Skybound seems to be the fan favorite on showcasing Jay as the central character to the plot.

Now, onto the Earth Ninja:

Day 9: Which season/miniseries used Cole the best?

Could be because of:

  • his characterization
  • comedy
  • emotional depth
  • dynamic with the team or friends
  • action moments
  • or overall contribution to the story

Which season/miniseries used Jay the best?

Dragon’s Rising Season 2 Part 1 takes the round for Kai’s best usage! We got a lot of votes for Monstrosity, the Pilots, and Hands of Time, which is cool, and I noticed that a lot of you liked Kai during Tournament of Elements and Possession, which are good picks too.

A lot of you liked how mature Kai had become during this season, and I think we can all agree that him unlocking the Rising Dragon technique with Nya was such a powerful scene, which is the picture I chose to represent this choice.

Now moving on to the Lightning Ninja.

Day 8: Which season/miniseries used Jay the best?

Which season/miniseries do you think handled Jay the best overall?

Which season/miniseries used Kai the best?

The final votes are in. Lloyd got less votes than I expected, but I saw quite a lot of contenders. SOG Lloyd, Island Lloyd, ZX Lloyd, and both Lloyd designs from Possession got a lot of votes. Fugitive, Spectral, and Draconus popped up quite a bit. In the end, Kimono Lloyd came in with the most votes!

So it seems, this subreddit’s favorite designs for the Ninja favor the classic designs, at just over 50%, with 4:2 ninja having a variant of their classic designs being the favorite. I would have bet that most people would have voted for a post-movie design, but surprisingly not. Remember, vote with your upvotes as well. Sort comments by top, and find the comment with your favorite suit, so we can get as accurate as we can with the votes.

But with that, the “Best Look” category comes to a close. Now, onto the next column.

Day 7: Which season/miniseries used Kai the best?

This isn’t about looks anymore, but about writing, impact and overall character usage. Which season or miniseries do you think handled Kai the best overall?

Could be because of:

  • his character writing
  • emotional depth
  • action sequences
  • importance to the plot
  • chemistry with other characters
  • or overall contribution to the story

Some of my personal examples are:

  • Ninjago Legends: Monstrosity
  • The Pilots
  • Hands of Time
  • Dragons Rising Season 2

What is Lloyd's best look?

Votes have been tallied! This one has had the most votes so far! Nya’s had so many looks, and we saw love for nearly all of them! Hands of Time, Skybound Airjitzu, her MOTO Kimono, and her climber look were surprise favorites for many. Even her movie look got a lot of love! I saw a lot of love for each of her Samurai X looks too, from her original, to her Rebooted look, to Jungle, to Crystalized! Possession and Day of the Departed got quite a few votes, and I saw a lot for Tournament of Sources. But ultimately, the winner was NRG Nya from Seabound! Such an awesome moment dedicated with a great minifigure, and the clear elements and shades of blue really make it pop.

Now, onto the legendary green ninja himself.

Day 6: What is Lloyd’s best look?

Lloyd has gone through one of the biggest journeys since the start of the series, and has matured into a great leader. From his start as a simple thorn in the Ninjas’ side, to becoming their trainee, to aging and becoming their leader, to becoming the teacher of the new Ninja, Lloyd has arguably come the farthest from any Ninja, and he’s got the suits to reflect that.

Which Lloyd look was your favorite overall?

Could be because of:

  • the design
  • the color scheme
  • the hair/mask/headband design
  • the preference towards the redesign or his classic design
  • the fittingness to his character
  • or just pure aura

Remember:

  • Keep it to one suit per comment, and say why you voted that suit
  • If you see the suit you were going to vote for, upvote that comment
  • If it showed up in any form of official media(figure, show, the movie, comic, artwork etc), it’s a valid pick
