Dale cannot pick his battles at all

no seriously how did he get so offended at this. duu’s priorities are robusted to precise.

more songs that need a revival and a fresh coat of paint (ie a CSP chart)

seriously theres so many old bangers laying around that konami has not taken advantage of.

also gonna reiterate: Mad Blast and Outer Limits, please.

Someone needs to make 4C Fungus and pH levels compilations

similar to the ‘every time dale says rog’ or ‘every time dale mentions hating his daughter’ type comps

when is the csp dropping for this undercharted masterpiece

and i better not see any bullshit crossovers or stepjumps neither. make it a cool 14 or 15 with appropriate 16th bursts for those synth patterns

The “Classic” grouping for flare skill is too big and doesn’t make sense timeframe wise.

It seems strange that the ‘classic’ category has essentially 13 mixes, while the ‘white’ and ‘gold’ category have 3 each. i know there’s less songs per mix in classic, but it still feels strange having songs like aftershock and new york evolved be grouped into the same ‘era’ as butterfly and make it better. It also seems to disproportionately favor playing newer songs for flare skill (which is maybe on purpose). the only other justification would be so that there’s enough 17s and 18s in the category, but isn’t that the point of these new CSP charts?

Also, just in terms of sentimentally what should be considered the ‘classic’ era, for me at least the absolute latest that could be is supernova 2, but more likely the last ‘classic’ era release was Extreme. While it is true that we are farther away from X3 now than X3 was to DDR 1 at its release, DDR was very clearly aware of its own age by the time X1 rolled around, judging by the fact ‘10th anniversary’ was a huge part of the game’s branding, X-special charts were released, and the rating system was changed. Also, the game was much different mechanically at that point, with features like marvelous, shock arrows, and online connectivity. That seems pretty different from the era where you couldn’t even choose speed mods. Even Supernova 1 massively overhauled the game’s aesthetic and raised the difficulty ceiling substantially.

IMO it would make more sense to divvy it up potentially 2 different ways -

  1. Make a new category. Classic is 1stmix-Extreme. Supernova-X3 is its own category (title it ‘space’ or ‘silver’ or something). Other two stay the same

  2. Shift the existing three categories to more evenly distribute mixes. Classic could end at Extreme or SN2, and then X-X3 or the supernova games could be folded into the White category, and then Ace could be folded into the Gold category. This would be a lot harder since it would more drastically affect players’ existing flare skill rank.

I could be totally off base here and it could be that classic is 1/3rd of the songs in the cab, but as a player that tends to really favor classic songs, it kinda sucks that there’s a strategic cost to doing so in terms of flare skill.

Again, It feels odd that attempting to score/clear on New Decade or antimatter trades off with my PFC attempts on Genom Screams flare skill allocation wise. Let me know what your takes on this are, i could just be old man yelling at cloud here. i get that konami definitely wont change this at least until a new mix drops.

Soul Slop is such a copypasta factory

legit all of dale’s autistic pseudoscience ass dialogue would be perfect to just use for shitposting and copypastas. maybe have an automod for it.
