Level 3 replacement tires recommendation (First slip and fall after 800 miles)

Welp, I had my first slip and fall accident. I got some road rash, probably going to replacement helmet and need a new bell. Otherwise, all is fine.

It was an hour after it rained, on asphalt, in an area where there was some light leaves and/or moss on the pavement. I wasn’t going top speed (probably 50%), and slipped on a turn.

Any recommendation for replacement tires with better grip? Also coming up on the winter and though I don’t ride on ice, would be good to be able to handle some light slush.

Thanks so much!

Battery powered smart switch that works with Apple HomeKit without hub?

I am looking to install a smart switch on the wall where there is no existing wiring and I can’t install wiring.

Is there such a thing as a switch that is battery powered & doesn’t require its own hub (ie. works with my AppleTV which is already my HomeKit hub)?

I’ve been doing a lot of searching and can’t find anything.

Thanks in advance!

Plumber who is comfortable with new Hybrid/Heat Pump Water Heater install?

We are looking to replace our current 35 year old (!!) gas water heater with a new hybrid heat pump water heater.

I’ve reached out to about 10 plumbers and I’m getting very mixed reactions to making this switch, none of them are giving me comfort. It seems to me like most of these folks are old school and averse to new tech.

We want to make this change because 1. It’s good for the environment and 2. There are DC rebates and 3. This is going to be required nationally starting in 2029 anyway so it’s not some crazy, off the wall, choice. But we don’t want to do it at the cost of a contractor who doesn’t know the new tech and isn’t comfortable with it. We’re worried we’re going to get way over charged because they’re scared or that they won’t do it right.

So, have you had one of these installed in your house? And if so, do you have a plumber you can recommend who isn’t scared of this job?

Thanks so much!
