Took the opportunity to mod a friend's blower-type 2080Ti with an aftermarket gpu air cooler. Very impressed with its post-mod thermals.

New temps are 26C idle and no greater than 71C under load (Steed Nomad, 4k).

Before modding, the card would hover around 40C idle and start blasting off with its single blower fan as soon as it hit 70C. I replaced the entire fan header with a Raijintek Morpheus that I had bought years ago (it was a "ooh, piece of candy" purchase but I never put it to use until now) and attached two Corsair RS120 fans running at 50% via mobo chassis header.

I'm very happy with the results and yes the gpu has doubled in width but at least it can breathe easy again while still performing incredibly on 1440p gaming and fairly well on low/medium 4k gaming.
