Big ass grill(final update)

So, I know a lot of y’all were rooting for my partner and I to get that Traeger grill. We didn’t end up getting it as I said in my last update post, BUT while I was out on one of my work routes, I found this bad boy! Loaded that sucker up into my van as fast as possible lmao. Charbroiler grill, name brand and everything. Pulled out our old propane tank and got it filled up and it’s been hosting our dinners for the last two weeks! The universe heard my plea and sent me what I needed!! Works out perfectly cause our oven AND microwave are now kaput, so this helps while we search for curb finds to replace those two things

Since I know how the Internet can be.
Before anyone mentions the cars, front one has been broken down since we got it aaaages ago and dude sold it for cheap not knowing what he had. I keep pressure washing it so it doesn’t look nasty lmao. Other is our second hand daily bc we can’t afford to keep filling up my edge’s gas tank. They ALSO sold it for cheap not knowing how valuable it was. My partner keeps holding onto that rover praying he can fix it and get himself a luxury vehicle for dirt cheap and I don’t blame him, but it’s got a blown head. That’s gonna be rough.

Thank the produce gods!

I love nights where I get scores like this. Usually I get stuck with snack cakes and candy, but this was a TREAT!!! Thank you honey pot #2!

Missing is two sleeves of graham crackers my sister and momma already devoured lmao

Why, Texas Pete. Why

Broken hot sauce bottles and vinyl gloves don’t mix. I didn’t realize I was cut til I took off my gloves and realized why my hand felt funny lmao

But, I got a couple bottles out of it. And some other various pictured items. That’s kinda on me for just grabbing and moving but I’m still a rookie. Just glad it wasn’t anything worse. Just kinda a sad end to a rough day. But at least I got some items

Peach cups
2 glass dispenser jugs
Dollar store windex
Kettle corn
3 pizza cookies
Croissants
Pound cake
Donuts from a local shop I worked at
And ice cream bars(not pictured)

Cool interaction while diving

I always keep a bag of dog food in my car in case I meet someone on foot/bike that has a pup in need. My town has a large homeless population so I’ve had tons of run-ins and casual convos with the community around me. It’s time for me to find a new bag to keep on me cause I finally got to give it away tonight!

Tonight I was at one of my main spots checking out the produce and egg situation they usually have going on. Found some bagels, sourdough, 3 dozen eggs, and some onions as well as a half dead hydrangea(she will be saved!!! My trash plants have always done the best!) and some coconut water. This really nice fellow on a bike rolls up and rings his bell so I peek my head up and my social butterfly self just starts chatting away lmao. He has his pittie baby in a cool trailer hooked to his bike, sweet old boy was so well behaved. Immediately my mind goes to the dog food I have and I’m like “wait one sec man, let me get your dog something to eat!”

Turns out he stopped there specifically to find his pup some dinner, so I was able to help him out for tonight plus another couple days of meals for him. We swapped tips and spot info, he gave me some awesome info(car wash trash cans are apparently his favorite place to check for valuables to trade for cash, take that info how you will from someone doing it for 6+ years!) and I handed over some of the food I found that he was able to fit in his trailer.

My partner seemed a little weirded out by how happy the situation made me, but I love meeting people from all walks of life and hearing their stories. It brings me life hearing about others experiences. This man has biked from Ohio to Florida and back, all around the east coast, seeing some of the coolest people and places ever. Told me im the youngest person he’s seen out here diving and he loved to see it(I’m 25m), I told him pretty much the opposite, that I love to see oldheads still out doing it since I usually meet other 20-30yos and teens that do it. It was a nice refresher after a really rough day at work yesterday and I wanted to share the story with people who would love to hear it.

So, the mission was unsuccessful.

I got it in pieces but couldn’t get the top part apart. It was a wood pellet grill, so it had electric parts too that made it harder to deal with

Unfortunately, to save my partner and I from getting crushed or seriously pulling something, we ditched it. It wasn’t worth the potential injuries

I’m sorry to everyone who was excited

ETA: next morning and I’m still so frustrated, it was a traeger 😭

So, I know it’s not suggested but I’ve been itching to check out our local hardware stores dumpster even though they lock the enclosure it’s in. Finally did last night, and I found something magical but I can’t get it out and don’t know how to before trash day.

They threw away a display model grill. Never used, just weathered. I want this thing so bad, it’ll replace my old rusty one my dad gave me. But I truly don’t know how to get it out. My partner also really wants it. We just don’t know how we would get it out

It’s massive. One with the two tables on either side and the large barrel style lift lid. Everything in me wants to contact the store employees and see if they will let me get it out even though I saw it after hours. I just don’t want to get in trouble for rummaging in a locked enclosure!
