Ciclore Around Ti
I haven’t heard much chatter about this small builder in Japan - Ciclore. I just put my name down for a reservation on this bicycle and it seems like a good deal for the price.

I tried searching the subreddit for information on using the cellular module and setting it up with a sim card. I'm jumping through the hoops to get google fi to work. Anyone with experience? it would be greatly appreciated!!
So far I ordered a physical SIM card and then I ordered a $50 phone from Amazon to set up the sim card.
I got the sim card set up with the app but realized afterward that what I really needed is a data only google fi physical sim.
So now I've ordered a data only sim card.
My question is... do I need to keep the phone and use the data to keep the account in good standing? Or can I just use the data on the data only sim card?
On another note, I got the trackpad mod and holy crap... screw messing around with track balls!
I ordered the uConsole in November 2025 - received it yesterday. I had a CM5 Lite module waiting to be installed which I had ordered back in Nov as well. First off the thing is gorgeous, yeah the trackball is horrible... I sanded the ball and it worked a little better, very annoying but managable.
Getting the thing to boot the first time was a bit of a nightmare. I feel like as an amateur theres just a lot of conflicting information out there to get it to work. In the end I realized that it was a lot simpler than originally instructed.
- guides all told me not to unzip the image when flashing it to an SD card... the answer was to in fact unpack the zip before flashing... also BalenaEtcher was returning an error during the validation step while raspberry pi reported success.
- also guides instructed me to do the EEPROM patch before trying to get the OS to unpack but I realized too late that that fix only relates to the EMMC version of the CM5.
After many hours of flashing and reflashing I got the thing to work (originally I had thought that there was an issue with the hardware, I ended up reseating the ribbon and cm5 many times), believe me I was nearly tearing my hair out towards the end... almost purchased a new CM5 module.
Well it was totally worth it because now that it's running, it's kind of glorious. Now I need to sort out what to do next. What things do I need to modify (obviously the trackball is on the list... though I wish I could find one of those sweet trackpad mods). I ordered two of the orange OEM blackberry trackballs off of ebay. It seems like buying aftermarket trackballs is a literal lottery system - if anyone has a good link to a reliable replacement I would love it.
Also I ordered the HG NVME battery board. I think that if I can get a larger harddrive on this thing without futzing with the SD card it would be great.
I installed scummvm but the next software I want to get into is meshtastic. There's been a modest community growing in my neck of the woods and I think the uConsole as a communication device will be amazing!
Oh and I implemented paragonov's pseudo sleep mod and it's great!
Lastly, I made a small printed riser for the sticker wifi antenna. It's a very simple design based on another that i had seen. If anyone wants it I can put it up on makerworld to download.
Any tips or tricks/suggestions are totally welcome.
I’m here to shout into the void. I’ve sent them feedback tickets, I might as well drop my thoughts here also.
I LOVE the AVP and use it every single day mainly for browsing the internet and watching videos/movies. There are some things about the AVP that are so frustrating that from time to time I find myself snapping out of absolute nirvana… with the urge to toss my AVP across the room.
The UX forefather/God - Edward Tufte espoused the basic tenant, “Don’t make your user feel stupid”. The AVP constantly is doing this.
Anyway I rant, here are some things that Apple should tweak if they care about this product. The kinds of things that from time to time just make me feel frustrated and dumb.
The spatial browsing takeover of the URL bar… there are zero out of 100000 times that I want to go into spatial browsing mode on this window. But there are absolutely 100000 out of 100000 times that I find myself watching a video on YouTube (yeah the native app sucks) and I look up to type a URL and there it is… that ugly blue takeover that makes me wait before proceeding to type.
The bluetooth keyboard “suggestion window” that appears when selecting a text entry box… It’s frustratingly useless, I’m constantly just dragging it out of my view. Then, I click another input box and there it is again. Please provide a toggle somewhere!
Bluetooth typing cursor bug - i had this issue recently but maybe they resolved it? It had to do with typing in a text entry box and the cursor skipping to a random spot. I thought it was my keyboard but after some research i learned that it was a bug with the cursor moving to where I was looking. If it’s fix, thank you!
This is more of a suggestion. An input method that allows you to compensate for the inaccuracy of looking and clicking. I’ve used AVP since launch and the eye tracking has had dramatic improvements. I remember when you had to calibrate eye tracking almost every time that you put the device on. Sometimes I find myself trying to click something and it’s selecting the thing next to it so I have to look to the side of the button to click it. I suggest a pinch and move (hand) then release to click to the side. So i the button is to the left I would look at it (eye tracking is selecting the button to the right) I hold the pinch and move my hand left highlighting the button that I want to select then onTouchUP the click happens.
This is just some stuff on my mind. I love AVP and want it to succeed. Feel free to tear my suggestions apart or to add your own.
I watch a lot of travel vlogs on YouTube and in the comments I’m starting to see more and more this term “low trust society” or “high trust society”.
ex: ‘This could only happen in a high trust society like japan where you don’t have to lock your bikes…’
It reads as a buttress to rhetoric that places like Japan are successful because of their lack of homogeneity.
Is this a dog whistle that is emerging?
