How bad would it be to start learning on an Alesis Turbo Mesh e-kit?

I have been thinking about learning how to play for years now and I just impulse bought an Alesis Turbo Mesh I saw on fb marketplace for $160. Unfortunately I didn't do my research well enough and after I bought it I saw that it doesn't seem to be a great kit to learn on. It is also missing one pedal so I would have to buy that to complete the kit.

As the title states, how bad would it be for me as a learner to start with this kit? Would I be developing bad drumming habits that are hard to unlearn? If I can stick with it then any tips for how to learn the right way would be appreciated! Thank you!

Advice for beginners?

Hi everyone! I love the look of oil pastel art and want to start learning how to make it myself. I am a complete beginner at any kind of art.

I have a set of Pentel oil pastels and a basic 3A sketchbook. The Pentel pastels are kind of dry and hard to blend with fingers or a paper towel alone. I have not tried blending with baby oil yet.

Should I stick to these oil pastels while learning or should I get some other type of supplies to learn with?

Also any other advice for beginners would be appreciated! I am currently just looking at random pinterest and youtube tutorials to start with and also learning about light and shadow. Thank you!

Any tips for finding a short term lease downtown?

I'm looking for a short term lease, either month-to-month or 3 months, around the Grove st or Newport areas. My apartment building is asking for an extra ~$1000 over the current rent if I renew only for 3 months, and I can't commit to anything beyond 3 months since I may move to a different state after that. This is my first time looking for a short term rental, so I would appreciate any advice/leads. Thank you!

*ETA: I am looking for a move in date around August 20th - 27th, so I have some time to keep searching.
