I just found out my dr at my first gyne appointment is a man

First of all im not saying men cant be gynaecologists i just personally would feel more comfortable talking with a woman.

I couldnt decide if i was seeing a male or female dr as this was a referral.

Due to what ive been referred to its unlikely he will want to exam me internally, but if he asks i am going to question it, eg "is this absolutely necessary" and also explain to him that i am not comfortable with a man examining me internally, my mum will be there with me (outside the room) as i am only 16 so i will get her involved if necessary.

And he pushes for it im just going to refuse because what im seeing gyne for isnt an emergency and can wsit and if i have to i will wait for a female dr.

I know this sounds stupid but this is my first ever gyne appointment and i am a bit scared and this is something that i just find easier discussing with female dr.

BUT i have never met this dr so i may feel comfortable i dont know yet but i do not what to be examined internally by a man.

I can't get my homemade banana chips to be crispy

I have tried them in a ninja dehydrator and they just turned out chewy, today i tried again but instead followed a recipe using the normal air fryer but they just turned out soft.

I did exactly what the recipe said, dip them in lemon water to stop them from browning and then pat them dry and for the air fryer put some oil on them but it just hasnt worked.

Im going to try the oven tomorrow maybe or whenever I can get my hands on more bananas but any tips would be helpful.

Im pretty sure this doesnt exactly count as baking but im not sure where else to ask because everywhere else has rules saying no recipes but if there is a more suitable place to ask about this please let me know.

I have my first gynecology appointment and im kinda scared

I know it sounds silly to be scared but basically im 16 and was referred by my gp to gynecology because i had prolonged bleeding.

Im just a bit sort of worried about what is going to happen like what questions are going to be asked and if they will need to examine me in anyway.

Its such a stupid thing to be worried about because im sure it will be fine no matter what, nearly all the medical staff here are lovely i just have absolutely no idea what to expect.

My neurologist told me that I wasn't having any side effects to my meds even though I am

I am on sodium valporate, one of the side effects I have been getting is a reduced appetite. When my dr asked me about any side effects i told him about that and he said "well clearly you haven't got a loss of appetite because you have gained weight".

Keep in mind im also in the contraceptive injection, going through stress of exam season and also had to stop playing a sport due to an injury.

I tried explaining that I eat healthy, i barely touch junk food and basically only eat 2 meals a day with no snacks inbetween but he still accused me of not having a loss of appetite (before i started these meds I was always a snacker and ate way more).

Ive done my research and my other doctor who deals with my injection has told me side effects of the depo (injection) can cause weight gain but he just wouldnt listen and kept saying that couldn't cause it because weight gain rarely happens with depo.

At nearly every appointment with my neurologist he has commented on my weight and im sick of it, i would understand if it was having an effect on my meds and my life but its not, i am barely considered overweight based on bmi. I have struggled with my appearance for years and him constantly commenting on it when we are there to talk about other things is really effecting my mental health and how I see myself.

And for anyone wondering im 15 (16 in less than a month) 158cm and now weigh around 63kg.

I hate when doctors comment on my weight when it is in no way relevant to why I'm seeing them

I have epilepsy so I go in to see my specialist every 6 ish months depending on a bunch of things. I'm 15 (16 in 1 month!), 158cm and weigh 58kg, I know i'm not exactly skinny but its not as if my weight affects anything currently.

I've always been conscious of my weight and struggled with food and him making comments every time just makes me feel even worse and I don't feel like I can say anything because my mum is always in the room.

A few months ago he told me that I was overweight and that I needed to be careful, also keep in mind I eat healthy, I'm active nearly every day and walk to and from school so its not as if I sit around doing nothing all day eating junk food. That comment made me feel so insecure about myself because he said it in a way as if I was severely overweight, my mum was also pissed at that comment. A few months later I had another app with him and I had lost weight down to 53kg (I had been ill for 3 weeks so barely ate anything and started new meds that made me lose my appetite). He then told me well done for being healthy and losing weight.

With my meds the only time my weight would be relevant is if they were causing me to gain or lose weight which they are not so there is no need to bring up my weight at appointments. I have another one on thursday and i'm dreading it because i just dont want to hear his comments on my weight.
