I had an interesting malfunction at the range the other day. I wanted to share and ask for your input.

The event:
Chambered a round, pull the trigger, no bang. Rack the charging handle, ejected the casing of the cartridge with the gunpowder flying everywhere, round stuck inside the throat of the barrel with gunpowder debris all over. Bagged the rifle and brought it home and pushed the stuck round out with a cleaning rod.

This is a obviously a malfunction caused by faulty ammunition. My question is, hypothetically in a combat situation, where access to a secondary weapon may not be an option, would it be possible to load another round behind the stuck round, push it in and send it? Would that cause an even bigger issue, or could it possibly work?

I know this seems silly of a question, but I remember seeing a video of a gunsmith working on an Israeli weapon (a Galil if I remember correctly), where he discovered three stuck rounds midway inside the barrel.

Again, please keep in mind:

1. This is a hypothetical scenario.
2. Consider the environment of this hypothetical scenario, which is: you are in a gun battle and this is your only fighting weapon.
