Absent grandparents
Kids are a bit older now 9, 8, 4 and a baby.
My in laws have both remarried and have their own children with new partners.
When we lived local to them they rarely visited us. How we live further away.
Something I brought up was that I wanted them to be more involved. I pretty much begged them when my kids were small. They don’t reach out ever and now that they are older she wants to ask for photos, or to FaceTime my kids.
Am I in the wrong for wanting to set that boundary and say that opportunity has passed? Or am I being selfish? Husband doesn’t really talk to his parents much either but that’s a longer story. Husband is supportive of my decision.
Do I reply to her messages asking to FaceTime my kids when my kids don’t even know her at all? Why now?
Thanks everyone.
