SHGM denied claim as well
Hi everybody,
I was able to find a lot of information on how to file a claim with SHGM but nothing on how to proceed in my case.
My flight was AKL-KUL-IST-EU. Due to very short IST-EU layover I could not make it to my last flight, had to spend night in Istanbul and only arrived next morning.
Turkish rejected my claim, citing operational reasons / adverse weather conditions for 29 minutes delay. There were no issues with a weather and all flights operated normally.
Thanks to other posts, I was able to submit a complaint to SHGM. They rejected my claim as well, just accepting airline's explanation of weather conditions.
Now, I wanted to give the case to some of the companies that take it over for a percentage and bring it to the court (which I guess would be needed in my case).
However, they are saying that neither SHY rights nor EU261 are applicable in my case.
My question is, SHGM did not mention anything about ineligibility. Is there any company that would take this case over? And furthermore, which country's passenger rights would be applicable in my case if SHY and EU261 are not?
