Moving

After two years of living in Jakarta I am moving back to Canada next month – a few questions:

- I have a whole pile of good clothes and shoes that I would like to sell or at the very least donate, because I just don’t have enough room in my suitcase. They’re all still perfectly wearable. Any recommendations on the best method or place to do this?

- What about used furniture (like coffee table, lamps, fan, chairs, kitchen cart, etc.)?

- I also collected a whole collection of books that I would love to bring back with me but I just don’t have enough room for. I’m thinking of putting them all in a box and ship them, as I don’t need them right away and can wait for a long time for it to arrive. Is this something that I can do with Pos Indonesia or is there a better courier that is also cheap?

Thanks!

Kid-friendly attractions

So my friends (a couple) are visiting from abroad and they will be bringing their 7-year old kid with them to visit me here. They will be staying in Jakarta for a solid week and will be spending another week elsewhere. Wondering if any of you have suggestions for family-friendly places in town that would be great to entertain a grade-school kid. So far on my list I have:

  1. TMII - especially the bird park and the Komodo park.
  2. Jakarta Aquarium at Central Park - I thought about going to Sea World instead but the aquarium seems to be better?
  3. Museum Layang-layang in Pondok Labu
  4. Ragunan Zoo maybe? Is it worth it?
  5. Kebun Raya Bogor - for a day trip.

Any other recs would be much appreciated! Thanks!
