Extend medical leave or return and face PIP?
I was warned about a PIP, but it was never formally issued. Unfortunately, my medical condition worsened and I had to go on FMLA and am currently on STD. I’ve already been on leave for 4+ months, and my doctor may recommend extending it further.
Can my employer fire me if I extend my medical leave, assuming the leave is properly approved? Or would it be better to return with accommodations and face the PIP?
What would you do in this situation?
If i get fired while on leave, is it concerning for future employment verification?
