[HIRING] Growth Operator, Organic Distribution & Partnerships | Remote

I'm looking for a very specific type of person to join an early-stage SaaS company.

This is not a traditional marketing job. I'm looking for someone who is basically an indie hacker, but for marketing.

Someone who gets a goal, figures things out themselves, uses AI/automation to move fast, runs experiments, and doesn't need someone telling them what to do every day.

The mission

We're a SaaS product helping e-commerce sellers cross-list products across marketplaces.

We're looking for someone to figure out how to bring us more qualified sellers through organic distribution. Some of the things you'll initially work on:

Communities

  • Find where e-commerce sellers are asking questions and discussing problems
  • Participate genuinely in Reddit, Facebook groups, forums, etc.
  • Find conversations where our product genuinely solves a problem
  • Build relationships with communities and users

SEO & third-party websites

  • Find relevant listicles, comparison articles, directories, blogs and resources
  • Find the people behind them
  • Reach out, pitch, follow up and build relationships
  • Figure out how to get us mentioned in places where our customers are already looking
  • If there are 500 relevant articles out there and we're missing from 450 of them, you'll figure out how to get into them.

Creators

  • Find eBay, Etsy, Depop, reseller and e-commerce creators
  • Build a creator pipeline
  • Reach out and develop relationships
  • Get the product into their hands
  • Turn successful relationships into an acquisition channel

If you discover that newsletters, affiliates, partnerships, niche communities, podcasts, or something completely different works better, go after it.

We care about results, not sticking to a predefined marketing plan.

The type of person I'm looking for

  • A growth person at an early-stage startup
  • An indie hacker who learned distribution
  • Someone who has built their own SaaS or side project
  • An e-commerce operator who taught themselves growth
  • A scrappy growth generalist
  • An SEO/outreach person who likes experimenting
  • Someone who has built an audience or community

Your exact background matters less than what you've actually done.

  • Highly autonomous
  • Extremely resourceful
  • Fast
  • Comfortable with outreach
  • A good internet-native writer
  • Commercially minded
  • Curious
  • Comfortable experimenting
  • Comfortable with AI and automation

If you have to do something 1,000 times manually, you should probably be thinking about how to automate it.

You don't need to be a developer, but being technically curious is a big plus.

E-commerce experience is also a major plus.

What this isn't

  • Need detailed instructions for everything
  • Prefer strategy decks over execution
  • Only know traditional marketing
  • Care more about impressions than customers
  • Don't enjoy outreach
  • Need a large team around you
  • Don't like figuring things out yourself

How we'll measure success

Not by the number of posts you publish or emails you send.

Ultimately: How many qualified users and paying customers can you create?

The application

Please don't send a generic CV/cover letter.

Tell me:

  1. What's something you have independently grown, built, launched or promoted?
  2. What was the goal, what did you actually do, and what happened?
  3. If you joined tomorrow and had to find the next 100 paying customers without paid ads, where would you start?

I'm much more interested in how you think and what you've actually done than your formal marketing credentials.
