I Rebuilt Rome

Here's some pics of my ongoing attempt to reconstruct Rome. I've tried to approximate, as best I can, the basic layout, especially of the area around the Via Sacra and the Imperial Fora.

The layout is roughly accurate. Some things are just impossible to replicate, like the market of Trajan and the basilicas which don't exist yet in the game. I tried as best as I could to stay faithful to the forum plans as I understand them. For temples, I had to get a little creative:

  • Temple of the Divine Trajan, Forum of Trajan — I used Mars. Trajan was sometimes linked with Mars in propaganda.
  • the Temple of Venus, Forum of Caesar — Vulcan. I used Vulcan because his consort is Venus.
  • The Temple of Mars, Forum of Augustus — Mars. This one was easy.
  • Temple of Minera, Forum of Nerva — I used Ceres. She was getting mad about the lack of temples.
  • Temple of Concord — Vulcan. This temple was connected to the Vulcanal.
  • Temple of the Divine Vespasian — Neptune. Neptune was also getting mad about the lack of temples. Very few actual temples to Neptune seem to have existed in Rome.

Others:

  • Temple of Peace — Ceres.
  • Temple of Saturn, Forum Romanum — Jupiter.
  • Temple of Jupiter Capitolinus — Jupiter.
  • Temple of Vestia, Forum Romanum — Ceres.
  • Temple of Castor and Pollux, Forum Romanum — Vulcan.
  • Temple of Juno Moneta — Mars.
  • Temple of Antonius and Faustina — Ceres.

For the Colossus of Nero/Sol I just used the man statue. The Colosseum and the Circus Maximus I was able to replicate 1 for 1. The whole Palatine hill area looks roughly the way it should minus the dramatic, sweeping aqueducts. For the Sabura, I used unpaved roads and jumbled housing types to give it a slum-y vibe. My favorite thing may be the Baths of Trajan. I was able to stay remarkably faithful to the actual plan for the baths.

All and all, I built a miniature Rome. I hope you enjoy!

Farming Paradise

Just experimentin’. More than half of the island has high soil fertility because I’m a farming maniac

Can we build on roads please?

Came up with this neighborhood design and realized that you can’t use stone roads as general payment and build on them. Maybe y’all can add either the ability to use stone roads as pavement or to use forum without columns? That would be amazing 🙏

Rome Reconstruction

I took the assignment very literally. If y’all like it I can show you more of my reconstruction! Lots of sleepy workers but it works pretty good 😄
