Genetics environment or both??? Purple Mystery Snail coloration.

The first two pictures are some of the adult purple mystery snails in my main tank. As you can see, one looks almost chestnut, one looks half chestnut and half purple and the last is a beautiful all purple color. My snails get the best of everything, I monitor kh ph ammonia nitrite and nitrate twice daily. I feed a high calcium varied diet and I keep my temper consistently at 80°. Now the first two pictures are adults I have purchased from other hobbyists but they have been in my tank for at least a month. I am usually the authority on mystery snails but this one has me stumped. The only thing I am unsure of is my GH as the recent test I bought was 7 years expired and only the kh works but according to my municipality water department the water is very hard. I would love any knowledge anyone might have on the subject:)

How to hatch a mystery snail clutch

There is a lot of information on how to incubate mystery snail clutches but not a whole lot on hatching so I thought I would post this video.

This is a demonstration and the clutch I used was a little early but some of the snails thought otherwise. I also did this a little fast for the video. Take your time and be gentle.

After the hatch they will begin feeding immediately. They can't eat solid foods at this size so they feed on bio-film therefore an established tank is the best option. If you can't hatch into an established tank the next best thing is a fish net or breeder box that way they can benefit from the parameters of your tank without predation. If you go this route you have to feed them. I like to use crushed turtle pellets, Repto Minnie's with added calcium. Just a small pinch will do and if you add too much, the excess can filter out into the tank instead of a small container that will spike ammonia quickly. I like to keep them in this state for at least 2 weeks before releasing them into a tank with fish.

I have seen that a lot of people get confused when they see a hatching because clutches are not supposed to get wet. This is absolutley true but not during hatching since they would naturally find their way to water anyway.

Who's laughing now?

I can't believe how this community has responded to this post. You guys are the best! I'm pretty well done with sales for a couple weeks but if anyone wants me to reserve future snails just message me.
