Professional cleaners: I need your advice as a client. 🧹💫

I’m hoping to get some advice from the professionals here because I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

I've hired several cleaning companies and people through Taskrabbit. Every time I ask for a deep clean and explain exactly what I want, it still ends up feeling more like a basic maintenance clean.

Some examples:
- Dusting is skipped.
- Edges and corners don't get vacuumed.
- Baseboards get a quick wipe instead of a thorough cleaning.
- Fingerprints are left on light switches and other high-touch surfaces.
- Lightweight objects get cleaned around instead of being moved like plant pots, cat water fountain, cat tree, etc.

My condo is already mostly tidy and clutter-free, so I'm not looking for someone to pick up after me. I pay by the hour and would much rather someone spend 6 hours doing an exceptional job than 3 hours rushing through it.

The other issue is the final walkthrough. I'll notice things that were missed, but by then, they’re already packed up and ready to go. I hate confrontation (which I know is a me problem), so I usually just thank them and don't hire them again, or sometimes leave a less than great review (which I honestly feel bad about).

I'd really appreciate a cleaner's perspective:
- How would you want a client like me to communicate these expectations beforehand?
- Are there specific words or phrases I should use when hiring someone?
- Is it normal for clients to ask you to touch up areas during the walkthrough before you leave? And how would you prefer a client handle that conversation?

I'm genuinely not trying to be difficult. I just want to find someone who's as detail oriented as I am, and I feel like my last few cleanings have left me disappointed.

Looking for a truly meticulous house cleaner 🧹🧽💫

Can anyone recommend a truly meticulous house cleaner near River North?

I've tried several cleaning companies and Taskrabbit, but every "deep clean" ends up feeling like a basic maintenance clean.

My condo is already tidy, so I'm looking for someone to do a truly thorough deep clean once a month rather than someone who comes weekly to tidy up. I'm looking for someone who's very detail-oriented. Things that are often missed include:
- Thorough dusting.
- Vacuuming edges and corners where dust collects.
- Actually scrubbing baseboards instead of giving them a quick wipe.
- Cleaning fingerprints off light switches and other high-touch surfaces.
- Moving lightweight items to clean underneath instead of cleaning around them.

I'm happy to pay by the hour and would much rather someone take their time than rush through the job.

If you have a cleaner you absolutely love, I'd really appreciate their contact information. Thanks!

How to find a truly meticulous housecleaner?!?

I need advice on how to find a truly meticulous house cleaner because I feel like I'm doing something wrong.

I've hired several professional cleaning companies and people through Taskrabbit. Every time I ask for a deep clean and explain exactly what I'm looking for, the result ends up feeling like a maintenance clean instead.

Examples:
- Dusting is skipped.
- They vacuum the middle of the room but not along edges and corners where dust collects.
- Baseboards get a quick wipe instead of a thorough cleaning.
- Fingerprints are left on light switches and other high-touch surfaces.
- They clean around lightweight objects instead of moving them and cleaning underneath.

The frustrating part is that my condo is already clean and clutterfree. I'm not looking for someone to pick up after me. I want someone who's detail-oriented and notices the little things. I pay by the hour, and I'd much rather they spend 6 hours doing an exceptional job than 3 hours rushing through it.

My biggest issue is the final walkthrough. I notice things that were missed, but they've already packed up their supplies. I hate confrontation, so instead of asking them to fix it, I usually just thank them and don't hire them again, or leaving a less than positive review (which I do feel bad about).

So my questions are:
- How do you find a cleaner who's genuinely meticulous?
- Is there a better way to communicate my expectations?
- During the walkthrough, is it normal to ask them to go back and fix things before they leave? If so, what's the best way to do that without sounding rude?

I'd really appreciate any advice because I feel like I'm stuck in an endless cycle of hiring someone new and being disappointed.
