Accessing Recording files if stream interrupts
Hi folks. I''m relatively new to streaming and I'm looking for some input from the community about an issue I've been having when I'm “streaming and recording” and my stream drops due to weak signal.
To get started, I grabbed an old Android smartphone I had in a drawer, purchased 90 days of MINT mobile, and ordered a metal backstop mount from Nexus (the O.G.). I've been streaming directly to GameChanger from inside the GameChanger app.
When I'm at one of my “home fields” things work really well… for example, I streamed last night at 1080p with no problems, and then pulled the video file off to my desktop afterwards. But a couple of times now, when on the road, I've had poor/spotty cell coverage at the field we're at, so I end up picking a lower streaming quality (like 480p), and even then my stream might disconnect and need to restart. When that happens, I’m still recording at 1080p on my phone (streaming and recording), but if I navigate to the files on my android (using a windows desktop or file browsing app on my phone like MyFiles), the video recordings that were made before disconnections are “hidden” files with “.pending” naming conventions, and therefore difficult to recover….
Is there a better solution? Does something like Mevo studio allow folks to “stream and record” and then, if they get disconnected due to weak signal, does the recording safely save in a way that's easier to access/recover after? And is there a (free) competitor to Mevo studio that the community might recommend as a good stepping-stone solution to someone who isn't swimming in the deep end yet with a dedicated camera(s) and travel router?
Thanks for any insights folks.
