Hi everyone, I am a non-Indian guest to an evening wedding reception in July and I have no idea if either of these are appropriate.

The bride and groom are both Bengali Indian but they live in the USA now, and this wedding will be held here in the USA.

I love the lehenga but I’m afraid it would be too flashy, and I love the saree but… I’m afraid it’s not flashy ENOUGH!

I have never been to a desi wedding and there is no real dress code. Please help. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

I am 5’10 with very fair skin and dark hair. I know that the colors on both of these will suit me, so I am more concerned about the style. I don’t want to be too glam nor too casual.
