Do you put food waste in your food waste/yard waste bins? If so, do you worry about critters getting in there or the bin getting smelly? Teach me your ways please.
Just bought a house in North End and I’m pleasantly surprised to see we have 2 yard waste bins, 2 recycling bins, and 1 trash bin (no idea if that is normal). I had a home composter at my previous house and made some lovely compost but I’m happy to contribute to a municipal pile. For my home composter I could lean out the back door and put it in the bin, but with these yard waste bins being in the alley I’m wondering if I follow the same process? Accumulate a bowl of kitchen scraps in the house, and semi-regularly dump into the bin outside? Won’t that get filthy?
