Drove Portland Ave today- the park is LITTERED with fireworks garbage. So yall can spend hundreds on the noise pollution that scares all the animals but can’t be bothered to clean after yourself?

I live near Lakewood. 3 bed 2 bath apt. I’m looking for a female roommate to do things with outside, maybe even a little motivation to get out. Or maybe someone who’s just tired of paying full rent. I’d prefer to be able to help out someone who needs it, such as a struggling single mom or someone who’s having a hard time being alone.
I don’t typically get along with males when it comes to roommates or even being in the same room for long. I’m not much of a drinker nor a bar person.

I’m early 30s. I came across a listing that I thought was very reasonably priced at $249,000 for a 2 bed 2 bath. For me personally that’s all I would need.
I went to look furthermore into the details and then BOOM “55+ community only” 😒.
Why are homes priced reasonably for 55+ but not for young buyers? I know the obvious answer is for those elderly on fixed income but a similar home same square footage is double the price. It just seems sinister.
I reached out to the realtor anyways and she said that someone NOT 55 may buy the home but will not be able to live on the property. Who’s gonna stop me lol?

Good afternoon. I am writing from a new account for reasons that will be obvious. This was also posted to Tacoma and TacomaWA subreddits.
On Wednesday, July 1, I was walking east, toward downtown, on N. 21st between Junett and Pine when a driver in a dark gray Honda Pilot pulled over near the curb and was yelling to get my attention, saying what sounded like "Alia? Alia?" as if he mistook me for someone else.
When I stopped to tell him I'm not Alia and got a look at this driver, he had his erect pen!s sticking up, and he was keeping my attention to make sure I would see it. He seemed to really enjoy the look of shock on my face when I realized what this entire interaction was all about for him.
He started to drive off just as I was reaching for my phone to get a picture of the license plate. I did not get all of the license plate, but it started with B.
Description of the guy: mid or late 40s, a bit overweight, light-skinned white guy with dark straight short hair. He basically looked like Fred Flinstone. Eyes kind of squinty and fleshy. Sort of a "dad bod" basic middle aged white guy. He was clean-shaven and I didn't catch any tattoos.
Description of vehicle: a dark gray Honda Pilot, probably about 5 years old or so.
So, folks. There's a pervert in North Tacoma. He may drive on N. 21st to work downtown every morning. If you have any information, please contact the Tacoma Police.
This kind of thing seems really funny when you hear about it happening to others, but then it happens to you and it's hard to describe the disgust and invasion. It’s hard to put into words how intrusive and arrogant this behavior is. I’m in broad daylight on a busy street where I should be safe. And being courteous to someone pulling over in a nice neighborhood where so many people know each other or at least look familiar. That courtesy is taken advantage of. You never know when someone who is "just" a pervert is actually a very dangerous person. I'm angry and I hope he gets caught.
Please, please, if you live along N. 21st or have a business on that street and have a Ring or doorbell camera that could have picked up vehicles driving by, reach out to me. I want to review the footage to see if I can get a closer look at the car and license plate. Thank you for your time.

Many people work Monday - Friday and I am one of those people, does anyone have suggestions of places I can get routine maintenance done while not getting ripped off? Last time I went to jiffy lube for an oil change I walked away spending $180 which is obscene for a very standard oil change, I don’t care if I have to wait or pick up later etc. Thank you!
I recently moved to Tacoma with some friends, and during our initial house/apartment hunt, we found a really promising spot via FB marketplace. We toured and met with the (supposed) owners who were living there and they told us they’d just purchased another home and wanted this one to become a rental.
We liked the place and they seemed normal, so we applied on the spot. Our application fees were processed through a business LLC for their car detailing business, which we thought was odd but not super consequential.
A few days after, they reached out and let us know there was another party interested, so they’d be leasing to whoever provided a deposit soonest (in retrospect this should have been a huge red flag but we were staying with friends and kind of desperate).
We sent the $1,000 deposit ~ May 25th, and were given a move in date of 6/5. We didn’t hear another word from them until 6/7, when they emailed from the same business LLC’s email address to inform us they wouldn’t be able to lease to us after all, but they also couldn’t return our deposit until 6/29 due to “unforeseen banking circumstances “. I told them this was unacceptable, but I didn’t have a ton of choice except to wait it out.
I followed up last week and they moved the goal post again to 6/30, and now 7/1, I still have not received my deposit back and they are no longer replying. I called the non-emergency police line today and was informed this is more of a civil issue because we voluntarily handed over the money and they failed to uphold their end of the agreement.
I have proof of all events in both text message and email threads, as well as a deposit receipt.
The ask:
Can anyone recommend a good civil attorney in the area with knowledge of these kinds of cases? Anyone with a similar experience able to shed some light on steps I can take? I’ve never been in this situation and it’s super frustrating. Would it be worth my time to connect with the BBB and go after the detailing business vs the individuals? I have a first and last name, plus social media profiles for the person who took the money.
I like Tacoma a lot, and we’ve since found another place to live, but the initial loss of $1,000 made things a lot more difficult and left a sour taste in my mouth. I’d like to get our money back, and potentially some damages for time wasted and theft. TIA!!
Where to park for Summer Blast on the 4th of July. On the Parks Tacoma page for the event it says that Ruston way will be closed for traffic between Adler way and N 49th but then it says that parking with be available at Dukes, Katie Downs and across the street for them. How would you park there if the road is closed?
