  • 1980 in the WSL

Up Next: International Break!

Notes:

  • Both Iman Beney (Switzerland) and Laura Wienroither (Austria) have withdrawn from international duty due to injuries.
  • Khiara Keating will miss England's match against Spain due to concussion protocol but will be evaluated before the Ukraine match.

As it stands in regards to UEFA Qualifiers:

  • England are top of group A3, three points ahead of Spain.
  • Germany are top of group A4, one point ahead of Norway. Austria are bottom of the group, two points behind Slovenia.
  • The Netherlands are top of group A2, one point ahead of France.
  • Scotland are top of group B4, tied on 8 points with Belgium but with a greater GD.
  • Switzerland are top of group B2, three points ahead of Türkiye.
  • Wales are second in group B1, tied on 10 points with Czechia but with a lower GD.

The nation that finishes top in League A automatically qualifies for the 2027 World Cup, whilst the rest of League A and the 12 first, second and third placed teams in League B go to Play-Offs.

Times and dates are correct according to Flashscore and are in BST.

2025/26 Goal Involvements: final update!

Final update for goal involvements this season, I can't believe it's already over!

Across 32 matches, City scored 93 goals - an average of 2.91 goals per match. This represents the highest goal tally across a season since 21/22.

  • 62 goals in the WSL (2.82 per match)
  • 13 in the Subway Cup (2.6 per match)
  • 18 in the FA Cup (3.6 per match)

There were 16 different goal scorers this season and it'll surprise absolutely no-one that our top scorer for the FOURTH season in a row was Bunny Shaw with 27 goals! Vivianne Miedema took second place (14 goals), with Kerolin following in third (10 goals).

Iman Beney provided the most assists (10), which is especially impressive considering she only started 10 matches. She was followed by Bunny and Kerstin Casparij on 8 each.

City ended the season on 999 goals across 400 professional matches, meaning that the first goal scored next season would be the 1000th. Anyone want to make a guess on who'll score it?

Inside Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw’s record deal to stay at Man City

Seems like it was the board blocking an improved deal and not the women's leadership team (O'Neill & Sjogran).

Andrée Jeglertz is the WSL manager of the season!

Only the third manager to win the league in his debut season, he guided the team to 18 wins out of 22, with a 100% win record at home!

He topped the shortlist that also included Martin Ho (Spurs) and Renee Slegers (Arsenal).

Keep, loan or sell

Just for a bit of fun to see what other fans think!

I left off the players with 2026 contracts (Bunny, Leila, Coombs & Startup).

Once you've finished, you can see the responses so far and see if others agree with you.
