i have been to our local ssa office trying to get a replacement social security card because i got married and got an update on my immigration status.

GET THIS: day before my third visit, i received a new social security card with COMPLETELY DIFFERENT NUMBER and brought that with me to my appointment the next day and even the guy at the counter was baffled.

AFTER THAT THIRD VISIT, guy at the counter shredded the replacement card with wrong ssn and gave me a receipt letter stating that if i dont receive my card (with the right ssn and updated name) within two weeks, to call them and i just did right now turns out they dont have my application in the system so i have to make another visit FOR THE FOURTH TIME.

i have been going thru this application/waiting phase for the past two months 😭 i just want to be able to get a texas ID and move on from all this BS

any places with good ceviche? or if you have a recipe you swear by? my husband and i are craving bad lol thanks y’all

please any lawyer recommendations that actually care for detained clients?? my friend came here legally but overstayed their visa and has been detained since last week of june and we need a lawyer before another court hearing in august. please thank you. my friend has no criminal records or prior arrests whatsoever

went to my local ssa office last month and i applied for a replacement card, the guy on the window said everything looks good and i also received a letter stating they received my application and to wait 4 weeks so they can verify my documents.

a month later, i called today and the lady on the phone said she doesnt see anything associated with my application 😭 so she had to reschedule me for another in person appointment.

im so frustrated because i was basically waiting for a month for nothing and now i have to do it all over again

has this happened to anyone else?
