Why can’t they take accountability

Why why why why why why why

I’m absolutely exhausted. I honestly feel like I’m losing my mind. I’m not even in the relationship. Trying to navigate a friendship (an ending friendship) with someone with BPD feels like psychological torture. The word soup and the mind games and the deliberate commitment misunderstanding you. I just want to cut and dry the relationship and walk away but I’m scared of what they’ll do and how they’ll react. They’re vindictive and spiteful and manipulative and I really think they believe the reality they’ve created. It’s insanity.

I’m so tired.

Is this even sleep paralysis?

This has happened to me multiple times for YEARS, but I find it hard to determine if it’s sleep paralysis or not. Basically:

I fall asleep and “dream” (???) that I’m awake. In my “dream” I can sort of see, but not really. It’s like my eyes are glued shut but I’m literally peeling them apart to see, so I can only “see” my environment through the slits in my eyes. My environment is always where I ACTUALLY am (so my bedroom, or the couch on the living room). I’m always in a panic because I know something isn’t right. For example, this morning, I was “dreaming” that I woke up but couldn’t move from my bed and couldn’t “peel open” my eyes. It’s so real that I can feel the textures of my bedroom (ex: I “dreamt” that I rolled myself from the bed and in an attempt to “wake myself up” I was feeling the rug beside my bed, jumping up and down, trying to open my curtains/blinds, “peeling” my eyes open). Eventually I start screaming always in these dreams for help. Usually to my partner, but this morning it was for my mom. Eventually something clicks where I gain actual control and I’m able to fully wake up. When I wake up my eyes actually hurt, and my throat hurt this morning like I was screaming. Is this sleep paralysis? What is this? It doesn’t feel like “just dreaming” or “a nightmare”. It feels like I’m fully completely awake but stuck in my own body.

Courses/programs focused on CSA response and prevention?

Hi everybody! I’m a Saskatchewan based social worker and I am currently working as a counsellor for teens. I’ve been in the field for quite some time, specifically working with young people, and as I’m sure many of you can relate to, disclosures of historical CSA are made quite frequently. I’ve always been quite passionate about addressing CSA from a preventative standpoint (education for families, communities, and children/youth) as well as responding to and supporting families through disclosures and moving forward together.

Can anybody point me in the direction of courses/programs/trainings/webinars with a focus on the above? I’d like to enhance my skills in this area, both for my own practice and to provide prevention education to parents/families. Or if this is your area of speciality, please comment or send me a message! I’d love to chat!

LCSW in Saskatchewan???

As the title reads (mostly as a question) I came across a post on Facebook advertising a social worker retreat here in Saskatchewan. The retreat is led by a registered social worker who also claims the title of a “licensed clinical therapist”. I googled their name and they have a website advertising their private counselling services and have the LCSW title beside their name.

I looked them up, and they ARE registered with the SASW, our regulatory body here in SK. But as far as I’m aware, we do NOT have the LCSW designation in Saskatchewan. Something about this just seems fishy to me… am I wrong for thinking so? Or am I totally misinformed?

Any folks work/worked in Whitehorse for Govt. of Yukon?

Checking out/quite interested in a job with the Govt. of Yukon, located in Whitehorse. There are obviously many things for me to consider here, and I’m jumping ahead as I haven’t been offered the job but just wanted to hear from anybody who works/worked in Whitehorse and/or within the Govt of Yukon and/or within the schools: what was your experience overall?
