Journaling Research

Hey I’m doing this fun experiment where I research every religion and basically find stuff in holy books that either go with science or go against.

I’m ex Muslim and I don’t support religion in general but I think this will be a cool research thing. Abrahamic religions are the easiest to research regarding if science if compatible with them or not. If you guys have anything lmk so I can do a deep dive (can be facts of any religion that go against or for science like for ex: Christianity typically goes against evolution despite the billions of years of evolution proven)

This is also a study for myself because even though I never plan to join religion again I want to be able to show facts why religion is false

Introduction

Hey I’m a new agnostic. I was agnostic for like a year in 2025 but was trynna cope and force myself to still be Muslim. Thankfully my parents aren’t super religious (both my parents dress semi modest and pray all their 5 prayers but that’s rlly bare minimum I guess) so I get away with ALOTTT but yk how it is with girls in a cultural house hold. Culture and religion go hand in hand. I could never tell them I’m agnostic I would get my ahhhh beat LOL need to find me some ethnic guy or a guy with a Muslim background who is atheist or agnostic who can larp as a Muslim infront of my parents one day ✌️

I was Sunni Muslim before (thankfully not salafi) then I “converted” to Sufism for a couple of months in hopes to still try tk follow the spiritual part of Islam . I believe in God and my family is Muslim I guess I do follow some of the cultural stuff just because I am used to it and been doing it for past 16 years (currently 17 leaving one year out from when I was agnostic last year LOL) but I dont really want to associate myself with the religion in any religion in general LOL.

Also I do wear hijab which I hate it. My own mother doesn’t even wear it. I got semi religious in 2022 and wanted to wear it now I wanna yank it off. My parents aren’t fine with my taking it off but I know all my relatives are going to talk. I’m in my last year of hs thankfully am I’m planning to go far away from home for uni so I can live life freely without religion and also wear clothes that I want?!? Even before hijab i wasent allowed to wear shorts infront of my own dad because it’s shameful. I had to stop in the first grade. Even if I wear a long sleeve shirt or it’s a little tight I have to change I hate how sexualized Islam makes me. I can’t wait to get cool piercings.

I guess I’m a hypocrite tho bc when I stress I pray thinking someone will listen me LOLL also since I’m new agnostic and actually going to stick with this believe prayer is sometimes also a cope for me when I get super anxious of the fact heaven or hell maybe exists

Anyway I’m afghan/tajik what’s everyone else’s ethnicity

University of Seattle Washington

Hi, just expanding my options. I heard GWU is a pretty decent school, also very pretty too. CS is a competitive major, I heard, but I'm applying for Public Health and Psychology with a 4.1 GPA and coming from East Coast. What can I expect and does GWU give out good scholarships?

Rising Senior Who Wants To Go To Fordham or GeorgeWashington University

Hello everyone I hope you are having a good day. I’m a rising senior from NC wanting to leave NC and hoping to get into Fordham or GWU.

I want to ask how merit scholarships work for these universities since I don’t qualify for financial aid and if there are any legit websites I can apply for scholarships.

I also want to ask how I can stand out as a student. I want to apply as a biology and psychology major. I have a 3.6 unweighted and 4.1 weighted GPA. I am going test optional as well. And I already know I’m going to hear “raise your grades and retake ur act/sat” been there done that so I’m relying on my extracurriculars :)

As of right now I have one award which is HOSA state leadership conference. And idk if these count for honors by national achiever honor society, computer science honor society and then I’m planning to join national technical honor society and math honor society. Hopefully by this October I can get the PVSA award as well (aka national service honor award)

Extracurricular wise I was vice president of HOSA for 2 years, performed in a theater production that address diversity and social issues, kumon instructor, children book translator for a nonprofit organization that helps neurodivergent kids (some of my translations got published), intern at a aesthetician place, volunteered at my local library and cat shelter, and organized a clothing drive.

What I plan to do is to my publish a research paper by November, earn the PVSA, and volunteer for this non profit organization that helps low income kids and families. MAYBEEE volunteer at a clinic but I’m not sure I have time for that.

If there is anything else I can do and scholarship websites that can help me I would very greatly appreciate it. I’m very scared for common app prompts to open lol and I really want to leave my home state.

Thank you for reading I hope you have a great day and god luck to all my rising seniors :)

Help with Fordham

Hey everyone I am wanting to applying to Fordham university this fall as it is one my top 3 schools (1 in my list lol) I’m from out of state unfortunately. I want to apply as a psychology or biology major. I have a 3.6 unweighted and a 4.1 weighted. I know majority of u guys will say “just raise ur GPA” but I’m wondering what I can do that will raise my chances of getting in AND getting a REALLY GOOD scholarship. I don’t qualify for financial aid so that’s out for me as I’m relying purely on scholarships.

Here are my extracurriculars/awards so far that I’m going to add to common app:

Vice President of HOSA (2024-2026) ; supported chapter leadership, organized health-related activities, encouraged member engagement, and promoted healthcare education among students.
Provided individualized math and English support to students from pre-K through high school; graded work, tracked progress, and helped students build academic confidence (kumon job)
Performed in Amplified, a theater production addressing diversity and social issues; collaborated with peers from diverse backgrounds to explore identity, inclusion, and community through performance.
Translated and published over 20 children's books English - Dari (50+ hrs) for The Aspiring Pages nonprofit, expanding inclusive educational resources for neurodivergent children.
Interned at Wake Skin Care (45 hrs), observed aesthetic procedures, studied skincare ingredients and formulations, and gained exposure to patient care practices while assisting an esthetician.
Organized a clothing drive for a nonprofit, collecting and donating 60+ clothing items while coordinating outreach, collection, and distribution effits.
Volunteered at Wake Forest Community Library, assisting with children's educational activities, creative projects, and library operations while supporting community learning.
Volunteered at a cat shelter and organized a supply drive collecting 40+ items to support animal care and provide resources for cats in need

Award:
Placed 5th in the HOSA State Leadership conference in Health Education

Planning to do
Earn the PVSA Award (aka national honor service award)
Volunteer at a clinic or health care non profit

If there is anything else I can do please let me know as this is my dream school and I’m applying out of state. Also information you don’t need to know but I’m in desperate need to leave home and I can only do so if I get a really good scholarship or if I get rejected from my hometown unis.

Unis that offer good scholarships

Hey I’m a rising senior in North Carolina wanting to get out. I have some unis in mind but I doubt they would give me a good scholarship. Any affordable universities outside of North Carolina good for a biology major (that will also save me money 🙏)

I appreciate it thank you. Also good luck everyone when common app opens class of ‘27 we got this
