Torn between naked or touring
Hi all, I have been hung up on a mt-07 for about the past 10 years. I am at the point where I am going to purchase a motorcycle. I rode a Buell blast and an 80s yamaha triple for about a year about 10 years ago and had a great time cruising around back roads.
I'm not necessarily a new rider but its also been awhile. An older friend said the 07 is gonna be tough on the highway with how light it is and suggested going with the mt-09. I'm a bit concerned about this big of bike right away but confident I could figure it out.
I plan on using the bike for weekend fun cruising and exploring. I will be ideally riding to and leaving the bike in Phoenix during the Minnesota winter and riding back which is ~1600 miles direct.
I would plan on getting a windshield and saddle bags for this trip, maybe change the seat.
I thought about the tracer 9 but it feels big and heavy. I sat on and thought about a Honda rebel 1100 cruiser but both the tracer and rebel couldnt convince me away from the mt-07.
How is the mt07/09 on long rides? If I'm not looking to carve up corners and get the most performance out of the mt is there a better option?
