7 week rom check in

7 week rom check in

55 years old total right knee. My flexion is coming along and the nerve pain the last two nights is becoming bearable.

I can do a decent air squat but still not comfortable with a barbell. Barbell squats next. I’ve been deadlifting light. My endurance leaves a lot to be desired

I’m not sure of the accuracy of this. I can get pretty low on squats and I’m working hard for even more depth. We shall see!

Good luck to all who choose this journey.

7 week progress total right knee. 55 years old

Did a little hiit workout with a barbell and some air squats. I still have considerable nerve pain at night but the days are getting a lot easier.

6 weeks post op 55 years old progress update

Ventured to the gym today for a light workout. Rowing, air bike, dumbbell benches, squats

Bar squats not to depth yet but the rower felt good as did the air bike. I almost feel like there are no limits on either except my poor conditioning from doing nothing 6 weeks, and loss of muscle.

6 weeks post op total right knee

I’m happy with the progress with flexion. Upstairs and downstairs without a rail. I even did some painful lunges (will wait a little longer on those)

Very happy with my squat depth. Hoping to recover full ROM, which is basically my hamstrings touching my calves. I also did a light barbell workout Saturday.

If you are thinking about a TKR and you are worried about recovering ROM, you can get it back. It’s not an easy journey, but it is attainable.

55 years old.

4 weeks post op update

Kneeling since mid week 2. Child pose and working on camel with my yoga. I did two days of
A music fest one day was 6 hours and other was 10. Also went on my boat, alone. Rowed 150 meters to and from and most importantly got on and off the boat from/to dinghy! Not my smartest move. Friday Saturday and Sunday total walking distance per my phone was 2 miles each day

I did catch 4 fish 🤣

Anyway I’m resting this week as I did a ton more than I was supposed to. Took this today…. Mykneerecovery.com not sure how accurate it is.

Three weeks progress. It looks like I’m picking up a couple degrees

Every day. I hope this continues.

PT said kneeling is fine. Kneeling doesn’t hurt, it feels weird.
