Considering Commuting for new job: Baltimore to New York City (2-3 times a week)
Hi Ya'll.
New here. I am currently deliberating on whether or not I take this new job opportunity in NYC. I live in Baltimore, and am familiar with the commute time (between 3-4 hours) from Baltimore to NYC. Brutal. Is there anyone out there that commutes this frequently? Is it worth it? I also understand that if I work in NY, I pay NY taxes, even though I reside in Baltimore. Also brutal.
Part of me is telling myself I can catch up on tasks and life while commuting to and from but I haven't commuted to this level before. I'm sure this post comments will include "you'll hate who you've become in a few months" but for anyone who is out there that has found a way to make this work, it would be helpful to hear from you!
Job is 80k, requires 3 times a week in office in NYC. I may be able to convince them to come in 2 days per week, perhaps find a room to sleep in one day a week so that I don't get swamped with travel back to back.
Thoughts?
