My idea is to create a separate platform for mature content

Even though I have my mature content option turned off, I still ended up seeing an 18+ video in my feed (unless you actually view the video, it looks completely harmless at first glance).  That tells me the current system isn’t working properly and is showing people content they’ve clearly chosen not to see.

It’s also still way too easy for minors to come across mature content, sometimes without even trying, because it can just appear in their feed with no warning. That’s a real safety issue and it basically defeats the purpose of having a content filter at all.

Because of this, I think Reddit should consider creating a completely separate platform just for mature content. Adults who want to access it still could, but the main Reddit would stay safe, accessible, and appropriate for everyone else.

When Spiritual Orders Feel Like Businesses (AODA and OBOD)

I searched for days online to see if I could find more honest feedback about these two orders, but all the positive comments came from current members. I didn’t recognize that as a potential red flag at the time.

OBOD stopped feeling inviting the moment I looked at the price tag. At that point, it becomes hard to ignore that the organization functions more like a business selling spiritual teachings. I prefer finding my own material to read instead of paying them to feed me their ideology on a monthly basis.

AODA has its strengths and weaknesses. On the positive side, their website offers plenty of guidance for free, and in hindsight I probably should have just used those resources and continued on my own path instead of joining and paying for the membership.

AODA’s concept of druidry is fantastic, but I was surprised by how quiet their Discord forum is. They encourage new members to introduce themselves and share their journey, but with so many registered members, receiving only one or two likes on my introduction didn’t feel very welcoming. I tried engaging, replying to posts, liking others’ comments but it still felt as if only a handful of people were actually active. I got a few likes, but no real conversation. Many members haven’t logged in or posted in years, which also says something about the state of the community.

This whole experience with online druid groups made me realize how much I long for the kind of community major religious groups have when they gather and celebrate. I don’t think druidry should be solitary or confined to an online space. For me, it’s a path rooted in real life, real land, and real community.

edit: I made an error in my post. I said Discord forum, but I was talking about the actual forum. I've never used Discord in my life. I actually thought forum was their Discord page.
