Smart thermostat no screen and calls heat and ac
Hooked up new Amazon smart thermostat. Ran the rh to r single tab and got a c wire from the old humidistat off the wall. Not sure what the issue is? Pic is old thermostat

Gonna get a different tv stand that is open so everything can be seen and maybe a new crt that’s silver just to look better but I got this one free on marketplace because it had button issues, opened it up it and it had a stuck menu button so I just clipped the wire to it and it’s fine now.

I’m a pretty handy person and work in building maintenance at an industrial building, just wonder how complicated this would be or big issues I might run into. There’s no access underneath as it’s a textured ceiling. Any information on what to use for pipes or valves or anything like that is appreciated.
