As per the title, we've got a few spare codes for this weekend's Modern Warfare 4 beta thanks to Activision. I'm not going to say how many exactly, and I'm not handing them out just to people who ask first 😉

Drop your entries in the thread below and I'll pick a few lucky winners at random on Thursday, when the preload begins. Winners will get the code by way of a private message on here along with the instructions on how to redeem them.

You will need an Activision account as per usual with Call of Duty, and if you're on PC you will need TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled. The codes are for any platform, you get to pick which one you want when you redeem.

Update: Just to add a little extra context, since I re-read the email I have. The codes are Activision codes, and when redeemed, you will subsequently be emailed with a code for your chosen platform. So I'll pick winners and distribute tomorrow (Thursday) so y'all have time to get the emails and claim before it starts on Friday.

What's the oddest thing in your Xbox collection?

I've been scooping up a lot of old Xbox stuff recently, mostly driven by rediscovering the Xbox 360 with my son, who wasn't born when it came out. It's mostly games, but this past weekend I found this oddity in a local charity shop (thrift store for the Americans in the group).

It's all there in the case, and a quick web search shows there was a bigger set that also included a headset. I only got this. Even though it is completely useless, I couldn't leave it there, so it's now part of the growing collection.

It got me thinking: What's the oddest thing in your own collection? I've always grabbed bits of merchandise, especially the Hot Wheels and Forza Horizon collab model cars, but I think this is the first truly strange and completely pointless-to-own thing that I think is still pretty awesome.

What have you all got?!

I haven't checked out an X2 laptop yet, let my colleagues have all the fun there. But I already find it impossible to recommend anyone not buying a full-on gaming laptop gets something without a Snapdragon chip inside.

It's always a question, and while I was pretty confident I already knew the answer, I checked with Xbox anyway.

No, Forza Horizon 6 doesn't use Denuvo. Rest easy!

I appreciate that this might leave a bunch of players out in the cold, but I think this is long overdue.

Black Ops 7 is horrible on the Xbox One. Hopefully this is but one step forwards towards a better quality overall product.

On a more serious note this is fun to see. We all remember the community spirit around Windows Phone, and even if these things are now ancient, it warms this old man's heart to see it still lives on.

An interesting point made by Jen when it comes to the neverending discussion over exclusives versus cross-platform releases.

Forza Horizon 5 has been a success on PS5 in every possible way. Tons of players, great reviews, and sackfuls of cash made. But it's also a perfect candidate in so much as it's a game best enjoyed with as many players as possible.

Sea of Thieves has also done well, albeit not to this scale, but again, it's a multiplayer experience. Making this kind of money surely means Xbox will continue, but perhaps it makes the most sense to continue with these multiplayer, live service experiences only?
