so a quick answer is that Chip is Puerto Rican and Moe is Ukrainian.

It’s way easier to categorize them ethnically by their ancestry and the cultures of the communities that they grew up in rather than racially because it can get a bit more complex, given that they look like animals.

For example, Moe is visibly bearman but could also identify as white if he wanted. He has a bearman grandparent on each side and a white Ukrainian grandparent on each side, leading to two mixed parents for Moe, making him half white and half bearman. He grew up in places isolated from most other cultures.

Chip’s ancestry is a little more complicated but his closest lineage is a mix between catmen and mixed Latinos on both sides, mostly ethnically Puerto Rican. It’s tough to categorize with terms like black or white or brown here, but Chip would call himself brown-ish if someone asked. He grew up in mixed neighborhoods.

In addition to that, anyone that looks like an animal is going to have an extra layer to how they were socialized and how they have to navigate the world. Using Moe as an example again, being a bearman projects strength to most people and certainly helps give him a leg up in some aspects of life. But it’s not all positives for him, there’s some negative effects of looking bearman, too. For Chip, it’s complicated there as well. Cats can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.

It’s a lot and I could probably write a whole book on the race relations in RadFilth but there’s just not enough time. Hopefully this blurb was at least somewhat helpful in understanding how that kinda thing operates in the comic, thank you for reading!

with how my life is structured I think posting the comic in the morning on Saturdays is easier for me so expect new comics on that day instead from now on. Idek why I picked Fridays to begin with, maybe cause that's when the work week ends? Who knows doesn't matter anymore

I am still gonna share a quickie to this community rn tho so that anyone who actually cares about the sched and was looking forward to seeing a comic today gets a lil sumn sumn

ok see ya again in 2 mins

everybody gets 2 spanks to dish out to me, NO MORE AND NO LESS, spend them wisely
