Cherry blossom tree- featuring 100 hand made paper flowers

Making the flowers this tiny made it very tedious. There are 3 shades of petals and 3 shades of centers but they unfortunately don’t show up in the photo.

Just the paper flowers didn’t look right, so I 3D printed a load of teeny accent flowers, which I hand shaped with a heat gun and hand painted the centers.

The tree base is floral foam, gaged wire, electrical tape, floral tape, and paint accents. Shout out to my husband who did the LEDs and base with the electrical.

First card + sharing template

First card I’ve designed and made myself!

First go around I made the buttons just a bit bigger than their holes, and it made them such a pain to position. Lesson learned, just make them easy-to-place blocks. Sometimes it’s the simple things that don’t click till you’re in it haha

I’ve included a template for anyone who wants to make one too!

So this is why lettuce is called an instant gratification crop - these photos are just one month apart!

From outdoor transplant to harvest in a month is as close to instant gratification as gardening can get I’d say!

What other plants to you feel like give you that quick gratification and give you a boost? What have you found is like that for the summer season?

Iridescent decal

Decided to fancy up my decades old water bottle by designing this vinyl decal with elements I got online. Layering the vinyl is a pain, but so worth it!

Mulch has mold- is it still safe to use for vegetables?

I bought mulch on super sale and had it stacked under my roof eaves, and now I’m going to use more of it, it has a lot of this white mold.

Is it safe to use for vegetables still? Should I try to recover the mulch without the mold? Or is it all trash? (Sadly no compost pile.) Thanks!

First self designed layered shadow box

First layered paper shadow box that I designed myself with elements I got online. 13 layers of cardstock. A little simple, but not too bad for my first one right? What do you think?

The mighty bounty that 6 rounds of chive seed sowings have granted me

The result of nearly 6 months, and 6 rounds of very generous seed sowings. I’ve tried different seed sprouting mixes, different soil temperatures, different sow depths, and different seed packets. Most don’t germinate, and of the ones that do, most that come up end up dying off. Leaving this one mono chive to stand by its lonesome.

I’ve grown so many plants from seed in the mean time, even known finicky ones, but this one- this one I just can’t get to work for me!
