Would you keep feeding renal food if that's the only food your cat will eat but it causes loose stool?
Would you keep feeding renal food if that's the only food your cat will eat even but the downside is that it gives him loose stool?
My boy will not touch any other food at the moment besides the royal canin renal support foods (both dry and wet) but they both cause him to have loose stool/diarrhea. He acts normal and I give him daily lactated ringer's. I've tried pretty much everything I read about online to help harden his stool but I'm having no luck. Things I've tried thus far: fortiflora, proviable dc, pro-pectalin, slippery elm bark, and pumpkin.
People say "fed is best" but what about in this sceniario? He will starve himself if I serve him any other food. What would you do?
Of note: vet does not think it's IBD or infectious in nature.
