Never lifted weights - 8 months progress

TLDR down 245 to 213 GW 200. Past 2 years has destroyed me physically and destroyed all my confidence and mental health. I didn’t believe in lifting weights. I mever understood lifting something up to put it down in the same place. I’d rather do legitimate work of putting items that needed to be moved. All my exercise my whole life has involved my place of employment and basketball. Then I moved into a traveling sales role, Which involved sitting in a car to sitting in a meeting supersets followed by sitting in a hotel typing reports and eating a meal. My avg steps went from 15k to 4k. The amount of weight I moved in my production environment job 3-5 days a week disappeared and my body deteriorated. I was scared to goto the gym and start lifting weights because I never have before. I signed up for a personal training program that involved 2-3x a week full body 30 minute workouts and started being more conscious of the food I consumed. After 5 months of seeing some improvements but nothing close to what I wanted I began using macrofactor and learned I ate healthy foods at unhealthy amounts.

After 60 days, I don’t use MF daily because it was too much on me mentally and consumed me, but still use it sparingly on my first two meals to make sure my calories are down and my protein is up, and to double check myself on how close I am on my actual calories vs where my mental guesses are( usually am pretty spot on now). MF WAS A game changer for me and is a great resource that I’ll forever be thankful for and I’m sure I’ll use it again when I want to be more aggressive on a cut or when I ever get to the point where I can handle a bulk. I just found myself telling I had to eat to meet my calorie and protein goals and got real hard on myself if I was ever under or slightly over for a day. My whole day was engulfed in what I was going to eat and was a little overboard, which is how I get with everything so no shock there.

Anyway I am nowhere close to where I want to be but am down 245 to 213 and for a person who started with no muscle at all, I am happy with my progress. If you guys are struggling mentally, I’ve been there and exercise and eating well has fixed me. For anyone who is a WIP, I’m here with you.
