Planning a trip to Maui departing December 26th this year and returning January 2nd. How busy and hectic is the airport December 26th? Flight would depart @ 8:40am and wondering how early I should leave coming from North OC. My alternative is departing out of LGB @ 7:10am. Don’t know which departing flight is the smarter move.

LAX flight is a wide body (2-4-2 seating)
LGB flight is standard (3-3 seating)
LAX is $100/ticket cheaper
