401k rebalance

Hi all - 45m here. I’m contemplating adjusting my 401k balance but not quite sure.

- I’m happy with my current balance and I think I’m likely on track to cover retirement expenses assuming nothing catastrophic

- above probably requires my continued contribution probably for the next 5 years

- I’m worried about job loss - so I want to max my earnings now.

- given that: would you recommend being more aggressive?

- my retirement I hope is at 59

85% equities

I’m 45 and my target date fund I noticed right now is 85% equities. Am I leaving money on the table?

Shall I adjust this?

Stats:

Balance: ~1mm
Expected retirement age:59 but can change depending on job loss

Had 3 interviews, I would characterize them this way

  1. with hiring manager - went excellent. And that was the feedback given back to me by the recruiter

  2. interview with managers peer #1: no feedback but I felt like I didn’t sell myself well. Went “eh” in my opinion

3.) interview with another peer of hiring manager - also went “eh” in my mind

I have not received feedback yet from recruiter on 2,3. But hiring manager is supposed to huddle up soon with them

Am I cooked?
