1/64 Spark model of the RB20 that won Brazil in 2024. At least that’s what it said on the base but we all know the engine cover is not correct. Thanks to the guys on this Reddit, I bought the 1/64 Tarmac MCL36 since it had the correct green striped rain tires to match the autographed photo.
No. 1 of 10 ordered off eBay. It was Packaged well but the rear wing became separated in transport and separated into individual pieces. After my initial disappointment, I set about reassembling the metal wing parts. 3 hours later it looks much better. I used mostly Eclectic Quick Hold and Beacon 527 for the assembly.

The 101 car was driven by Jackie Oliver to the championship… Winning 4 of the 5 races held. Sure, the series was basically killed off in 1973 by the all dominant Sunoco 917/30 and the fuel crises… But this car is so beautiful and so well detailed that I had to have it.
Why that car? It finished 3rd in the C2 class… Well, no one makes a diecast of the C2 winning #116 Spice SE89 C. I found a built up Starter kit from France, but he wouldn’t sell to me in the US. The #102 Spice finished 2nd and it’s available… But 103 won first place in the Index of Efficiency! Had to go with the available winner…
Note the 1/18 Minichamps F1 cars run $39.99. I had purchased and built the AutoUnion Type C. It was a difficult build as all the parts seemed to be made in separate factories and nothing fit together as it should. When I finally got her done, I attempted to fit the body over the chassis… and that didn’t fit either. I cracked the seam and put it away for 30 years now…
This model rounds out my Can Am Champion’s collection. I now have 1969, ‘70, ‘71, ‘72, & the dominant 1973 Porsche 917/30… The car that “Killed” Can Am. I’ll post some family photos later after I get them all out on display. For now… Enjoy. Can Am was the racing I enjoyed when I first started paying attention to auto racing when I was 10…
Had to add the C1 decals that were taped underneath. Suzuki crashed the car out of the race but the bright yellow livery is just too pretty. Had to add it in…
