yo guys what i do with this fella (thaumcraft)
idk i read the thaumicon idk what they mean when i have to infuse...
nei says theres no need for any essentia but the thaumicon says i do need some sort of essentia, idk nothing is clear rn

Title speaks for itself
i am tryna make like idk a lot of CV (centivis) for my thaumcraft endeavours invoolving those requiring CV
as far as i know sometimes when i capture nodes it has a chance to make them worse at producing CV like pale nodes are like 80% efficiency compared to an unaffected one. rn i do have a node but its kinda shit honestly. any tips to get good nodes with maybe 100+ of each primal aspect?
personally i do program but in python, but interested to learn some lua!
idk what to use this for but it seemed interesting to me at first
bro who ate my chlorine
anyways is there a way to force it out
tank is not even full
imo it was actually easier than setting up my ev power (cbd) maybe because cbd is like a practice round for using lcr. anyways its actually been around 200-300 hours since hv that i did another ev quest and today i decided to tackle more of the challenging stuff in ev so i chose the plat line (for tpv) and hopefully maybe get the motivation to start tungsten line too!
the plat line is semi automatic requiring at least plat metallic dust (average 95% recycled through sifting) and also ammonium chloride that im too lazy to genuinely automate ammonium.
in chemistry we are taught that they will explode violently... oh well
idk but twilight forest with shaders looks SO good holy shit
ev was supposed to be the shortest chapter but i dragged it as long as possible to make such an intricate energy line. probably gonna start doing ev and get stuck in iv, but who cares about stargate! the fun comes in the processing lines.
hm: oil cracker + singleblock distillery
800k polyethylene easily by literally not touching it for 3 hours
a bit of a side note the industrial farm is powered by my old benzene line, tweaked my benzene line to self power with phenol and toluene
anyone wondering what the 2 chem reactors on the far left is, it is my future cetane-boosted diesel line im just too lazy to connect pipes and such
Hello everybody. Today I will be sharing with you my CropsNH journey since starting 2.9.0 and most importantly, discuss on how to actually use CropsNH. Even though I liked the questbook explanations, I think the most confusing part for me in this whole thing was literally how to breed stone lilies and any other crop easily. And right now CropsNH information is a bit limited. This guide is intended to be read with the questbook. So, read what the quest has to say first, anything you do not understand you can try to cross-check here. Lastly, if there is any information error or something I missed please let me know in the comments. Without further ado, lets go!
To put it, its amazing for passive generation. Have you seen what certain seeds can do? For example, oilberries literally remove the need for oil drilling rigs and you can just simply 'make' an oil pool yourself, at your base, in your convenience. Its just SO good that I have to make a guide to tell everyone to use it NOW!!! It will save tons of time and so you dont have to go through painstaking grinding like me when i didnt update to 2.9.0 of materials and rather just grow it at base.
So, is it better than b**s? this view is biased and opinionated but honestly, CropsNH is comparable with b**s. The process is SO simple you just need to take a good look at where your seed belongs in what pool and find a way to breed it. Seems tedious but it takes less than 3 hours. (from experience) Seriously. Just do crops!!
Yes I have to agree this will be the more boring part of CropsNH but the foundation that you are going to work on. The first major milestone of CropsNH you will be achieving is getting a full stat plant or a 31/31/31 (Gain, Growth, Resistance). A bit of context as to why you should get a fully statted crop is right below, but you can refer to image 2.1 to skip the reasoning.
This will seem boring but trust me it is worth it. it basically reduces the pain in grinding CropsNH
Anyways, for those who do not want to read, here is a pretty optimal way of propagating your seed of choice. I recommend potato or berries as it can be pool bred to many other more useful seeds and is quick to grow.
Step 1: Till farmland + plant seed
Plant seed in this formation:
step 2: water + fertilizer
May be a bit difficult to craft the fertilizer in earlier ages but it is still possible. The more cheap ones i recommend after mid lv will be the apatite + sulfur dust in chem reactor as it gives a good amount of fertilizer to work with and it is also cheap! The reason for fertilizer is to ensure the stat spread for each stat (Gain, Growth, Resistance) goes from -2 to 4 to 0 to 4, basically guaranteeing a stat to be increased or just stay the same. water is just to speed up growth
Step 3: wait until potato is around 75% or above and check in again
You may have seen weeds on your cropsticks. if so, remove them and place them again. Ensure they do not stay too long or else you will ruin a portion of the farmland and cropsticks. By now, your potato should have propagated into the other sticks! if so, proceed with step 4.
Lucky! 3 crops have propagated!!
Step 4: find the best stat spread and remove the other crops
Now, all 4 sticks should have a seed (hopefully), if not, it is okay since as long as you apply fertilizer you are guaranteed a stat increase or just stay the same, which means you just need one seed that have been propagated. to the crop stick to proceed with the stat but this means you have less seeds to compare with potentially better stat spreads.
Now, DO NOT break your chosen seed. Remove all crop sticks around it. It should be isolated.
So what do you do now? Drum roll please...
Restart from step 1. Yes, just place the double crop sticks again and do not forget to apply fertilizer and water!
Pool breeding works by checking the parent plant(s) mutation pools to randomly select what seed to mutate to. For example, potato and potato can mutate into seeds in Root, Yellow and Food seed types. In those categories, it randomly selects a seed to plant
seriously, i cannot thank pool breeding much enough. Even though deterministic breeding exists, pool breeding offer shortcuts that most deterministic breeding dont offer. For example, stone lily - an important seed for breeding metal resources and oilberries - breeding comes from vines and pumpkin seeds. The funny part is, the vine seed loops by itself. By clicking through the recipes, you will quickly find out that you will need Blue Orchid seeds, which require water lily seeds, which requires VINES, the sole seed you needed for your deterministic breeding has become the seed that you need to BREED for the deterministic breeding to occur. it loops and it is so stupid. OR you can do pool breeding. Using the same example to explain how overpowered pool breeding is, potato with potato and double crop sticks at the middle. wait for a while and saltyroot should appear. if not, just remove the crop in the middle and restart. Then, use the saltyroot seed and do the same thing as the potato. If you see carefully, saltyroot is in the gray seed pool. I wonder what else is in that pool too... (stone lily). I digress, and if you look EVEN closer, the ONLY requirement that the stone lily seed needs is just 2 stone blocks below it. THAT means MOST of the seeds that cannot accept stone as a growing field, and they are not allowed to be planted. Funnily enough, it just becomes "deterministic" breeding. Try this out and see how it goes.
a good example of how pool breeding can be better than deterministic breeding (fertilia)
Congrats! You just finished the CropsNH tutorial. Now go breed your favourite seed! As you may have seen, it is tedious to literally plant and harvest, plant and harvest, plant and harvest... the resource crops you have right? so an amazing upgrade i like to suggest is the industrial farm unlocked in MV+. It is a very scalable and modular machine that is soon going to be your best buddy in this whole journey of passive resource automation. If you are not in MV yet, maybe consider the crop manager. It is still amazing and reliable like before.
Fertilizers can be bought in the vending machine at a low cost. If you have a hard time crafting them, just buy the 2 stacks from the shop.
Propagation not doing you well? Don't worry, get a reinforced spade to triple your seed gains! Every right-click harvest from a crop that is 31/31/31 is guaranteed for a 3 seed drop and a 10% chance to drop a fourth seed.
Even though pool breeding is still good, deterministic breeding is actually still useful in its own ways. Always check NEI for any good and cheap recipes that you can use. My personal favourite was breeding pumpkins as i had a hard time getting it from pool breeding. I also have seen some niche uses for getting crops too so CHECK NEI!!
For your starter 31/31/31 you can either use potatoes or berries. Berries are faster than potatoes and can also breed into useful seeds! For me, i started with potatoes as i felt that it requires less steps to pool breed to my targeted seed but it is a personal choice
All in all, this is really an amazing mod developed by the GTNH devs. If you want to learn more about CropsNH, i recommend going on youtube and finding visual guides, read the questbook and interact with NEI often. This whole guide is mostly based on my experience, so if there is any information inaccuracies or some tweaks needed to be made please let me know!
ok guide end
just updated and want to try cropsnh. other than that is there any other mod or feature i should try?
proceeded to press yes. just clarifying if its anything important. Followed the recommended migration steps in the wiki
sols ix base looks beautiful but are you still downloading manually?
just an update from my previous post (https://www.reddit.com/r/GTNH/s/ARNtSeQdJA) i am so glad that i am almost done with my base so i can start moving machines in and continuing my mid ev run!

fourth pic - hallway of one section
fifth pic - entrance and exit of the base
sixth pic - just some words so i can see in my journeymap where is the tiered machines

excited to build the second sector of my base see u there in my future post soon!
okay for context: https://www.reddit.com/r/GTNH/s/zVclTDui4b
i decided to take some time to do some creative builds and looked around for some images. at the start it was a bit painful to actually find the right blocks and planning took a while to ensure i didnt ran out of blocks. omd this may be the best feeling in gtnh, adding shaders just really made it better.

STILL IN PROGRESS AND BARE BONES BUT WILL KEEP EVERYONE UPDATED ONCE IT FINISHES!!!
uh what
even crafting table cant apply it
yea idk turns out like shit but uh i may refactorise it?
alright first problem is the farmland error which i did place stone bricks and on top is farmland, which i am not clear why it gave me that error
secondly, water problem which i have tried supplying sufficient water which can be seen on the water meter that it is full
any way to fix this?
idk why but i enjoy reading a multi or thing that is leagues ahead of my tier and then realising im too deep in the rabbit hole to escape
despite being level 30 when i use the feed snipe tool I teleport and dont see the pokemon that i chose to snipe for. i respect cooldowns and even after the cooldowns it doesnt spawn. is there something that i am missing?
tried right clicking it with wand of at least 40 vis for each aspect and it doesnt work. No water is inside the crucible
