Is Alzheimer’s Research Focusing on the Wrong Target?
It's a long but worthwhile read, and brings up some opposing views from physicians.
Alzheimer's: Anti-inflammatory diet may help reduce risk by up to 29%
Something to consider, even post diagnosis.
I've been doing everything possible to improve my wife's (picky) diet, and supplementing where there are gaps.
From the article
>A new study has suggested that an anti-inflammatory diet might help lower dementia risk, particularly in people with Alzheimer’s pathology.
>Among the diet patterns the researchers studied were also the Mediterranean-style diet, which showed protective effects only in people with lower baseline levels of Alzheimer’s biomarkers.
>The authors caution that this observational study cannot prove the effects of diet, but reinforces the evidence that diet quality affects brain health.
Scientists reprogram brain immune cells to fight Alzheimer’s

Summary from the article:

A newly identified molecule called OLE helped restore the brain’s immune cells to a more protective state in Alzheimer’s models. The treatment reduced toxic plaque buildup and improved memory, raising hopes for a new therapeutic approach.

Popular joint supplement glucosamine linked to faster Alzheimer’s progression
Usually I would try to post things that are intended to help with slowing Alzheimer's progression, but this seems to be something to consider as well.
Was trying to post an excerpt from the article, but my phone is giving me grief. So you'll have to click the link
Suffice to say it does not definitively prove that it causes it, but may provide clues as to why.
"The link must be from one of the approved domains: blogger.com and getrial.online."
Not sure if some sort of post filtering is going on to prevent another "Bot" attack, but I got this message even trying to (test) post something from "Nature.com" and that makes no sense to me at all.
Are links ONLY allowed from "blogger.com" or "getrial.online" from now on?
OR, am I (and/or other specific users) prevented from posting links to articles?
Scientists Discover How Obesity May Trigger Alzheimer’s Disease
I am wondering if this is related to the idea of GLP-1s helping AD.
But, it may help to know that this is another possible path/source of AD that is outside the Amyloid cascade hypothesis.
New Math Method Inflates Alzheimer's Drug Success by 29x - Neuroscience News
Not trying to deflate anyone's expectations, but it may be an important thing to (re)consider the actual efficacy of some of these treatments.
But, there are several more in the pipeline that will hopefully help.
